Moments after liftoff from Florida's Space Coast early Thursday morning, a shower of sparks emerged in the exhaust plume of United Launch Alliance's Vulcan rocket. Seconds later, the rocket twisted on its axis before recovering and continuing the climb into orbit with a batch of US military satellites. The sight may have appeared familiar to seasoned rocket watchers. Sixteen months ago, a Vulcan rocket lost one of its booster nozzles shortly after launch from Cape Canaveral Space Force Station. The rocket recovered from the malfunction and still reached the mission's planned orbit. Details of Thursday's booster problem remain unclear. An investigation into the matter is underway, according to ULA, a 50-50 joint venture between Boeing and Lockheed Martin. But the circumstances resemble those of the booster malfunction in October 2024 . Closeup video from Thursday's launch shows a fiery plume near the throat of one of the rocket's four solid-fueled boosters, the area where the motor's propellant casing connects to its bell-shaped exhaust nozzle. The throat drives super-hot gas from the burning solid propellant through the nozzle to generate thrust. Read full article Comments

Frogman1484/iStock Unreleased via Getty Images It has been a while, but at the end of August 2025, I reiterated my sell rating on American Express Company ( AXP ). In that analysis, I found that even though the company beat estimates, they failed to raise full-year guidance, and that's usually a sign of cautiousness. Furthermore, the valuation was determined to be elevated. Since the publication of that update, the stock has gone on to advance by around 9%, even after the recent pullback. Today, we'll see if this strength is driven by the fundamentals or whether American Express remains a sell. Seeking Alpha In the below analysis, the company is shown to be one that has demonstrated resilience. Activity has remained solid in their 2025 Q4 , and the excellent control of operating expenses has made profitability a highlight. Moving forward, investors can expect more of the same, but that's not a bad thing at all. Steady growth and improving profitability are outlined in their 2026 guidance. While there are some political risks, the valuation pullback has made current levels in the stock fair. I previously concluded that the stock was expensive, but considering their impressive levels of resilience, I now believe the fundamentals can justify the price tag. Therefore, I have decided to upgrade American Express to a hold, as investors should give the stock some consideration. Key Metrics American Express Q4 Presentation Today, we'll start with a look at some of the company's key metrics. Total billed business is a good reflection of both American Express' business activity and also the economic confidence in the U.S. and in international markets. For 2025 Q4, they saw totalled billed business growth of 8% YoY. As you can see above, both G&S and T&E saw 8% growth, and so there is broad resilience. While there wasn't further acceleration from Q3, I believe this is enough to show that spending is holding up okay despite a shaky consumer confidence index in various economies...

We've received news of what capital expenditures look like for many of the AI hyperscalers during 2026, and these record-setting numbers indicate one thing: The AI buildout is far from over. This makes me bullish on a specific group of stocks, including Nvidia (NASDAQ: NVDA) and Broadcom (NASDAQ: AVGO) . Both of these companies are poised to benefit from the massive amount of money being spent this year, and look like excellent buys right now as a result. Image source: Getty Images. Continue reading

McKlin/iStock via Getty Images Toward the end of last year, I was this close to owning Tyson Foods ( TSN ). As it turned out, passing on the stock was a mistake. TSN has had a nice run of late, gaining more than 25% off late October lows, and reached a 52-week high in the process. With a reasonably solid fiscal first quarter print last week, there's a case that the rally can continue. Tyson stock is still relatively cheap at a little over 8x EBITDA and ~16x the midpoint of FY 2026 (ending September) free cash flow guidance. Those numbers are deflated by heavy losses in the beef segment, which should eventually reverse as the industry normalizes (and Tyson reduces its footprint in that space). But the problem with TSN is that we have quite a bit of history to suggest that the bull case just isn't strong enough: Data by YCharts The stock simply has been dead money for a decade now – and that does mean something. Investors clearly aren't terribly interested in the space, and indeed, looking at peers, the seemingly reasonable headline multiples aren't out of line. Add to that the fact that the potential gains from improvement in beef might lead to more pressure elsewhere, and the case simply isn't strong enough, particularly after the big bounce since late October. The Beef Argument The intriguing fundamental argument for Tyson stock – a version of which I worked through a few months ago – is that simply getting losses in the Beef space to zero could, on paper, make the stock quite attractive. Post-Q1 guidance for adjusted operating income in FY26, at the midpoint, is $2.2 billion . But that includes (again, at the midpoint, albeit of a wide range of $250-$500 million) $375 million in losses in the Beef operating segment. Get that to zero, and the numbers here start to get interesting, even after the rally. EBITDA would jump to nearly $4 billion, putting the multiple there closer to 7x rather than 8x. Free cash flow (using the company's guided 25% tax rate) in theory ju...

Jessie Casson Airbnb ( ABNB ) beat on most metrics for the fourth quarter, including nights booked and gross bookings, but missed Wall Street’s profit expectations as a $90M tax expense resulted in a profit of $0.56 per share, down from $0.73 a year ago and 9 cents below expectations. However, a more important measure of profitability for the company showed improvement from a year ago and beat expectations. Adjusted EBITDA increased 3% to $786M, topping estimates by $21M. For the reported quarter, Airbnb ( ABNB ) experienced a 16% increase in gross bookings to a better-than-expected $20.4B, a 10% gain in nights and seats booked, and a 6% gain in gross booking value per night and seats booked. This contributed to total revenue of $2.78B, a 12% increase from a year ago and $70 million better than estimates. For the current quarter, the company expects to generate $2.59B to $2.63B in revenue, representing growth of 14% to 16% and above $2.53B estimates. Gross bookings are seen increasing in the low teens, driven by high-single-digit growth in nights and seats booked. Adjusted EBITDA is expected to be flat from 2025. For FY26, revenue growth is expected to be in the low double-digits, and “stable” adjusted EBITDA due to investments in marketing, product, and technology. "These results reflect the strength of our core business and the durability of our long-term strategy. We’re driving growth by staying focused on four key areas: making the Airbnb service better, bringing Airbnb to more parts of the world, expanding what we offer, and integrating AI into our app," the company said on its website.
