Guido Mieth Executives from alternative asset management firms, such as Ares Management ( ARES ), Blue Owl Capital Inc. ( OWL ), and Golub Capital, have flocked to Mexico City in a rare opportunity for substantial new inflows of assets, according to a media report on Monday. Mexican pension funds, commonly known as Afores, represent a $500B opportunity for alternative asset managers, which have struggled to gain new business from U.S. pension funds as many have hit their limit for investing in private markets. Meanwhile, they're tapping growing retail funds, but that channel is more prone to panicking. By contrast, the Mexican funds are swelling in size as reforms increase the amount of money being contributed to workers' accounts combined with other rule changes that allow for larger allowable allocations to international private markets firms, Bloomberg News reported. Along with the Middle East, Mexico is one of the most attractive fundraising markets, Philippe Stiernon, founder of ROAM Capital, told Bloomberg. " The demographic and structural tailwinds are incredibly powerful, which is why virtually every major alternative asset manager is now prioritizing Mexico." It's difficult to ascertain which external managers are gaining the most secure funding commitments from Afores, the report said. But some of the earliest to create vehicles that Afores can invest in include Blackstone ( BX ), BlackRock ( BLK ), KKR ( KKR ), and Lexington Partners, Bloomberg said, citing data from Biva, a local exchange. JHVEPhoto/iStock Editorial via Getty Images Marvell Technology ( MRVL ) remained in focus after S&P Dow Jones Indices announced the company will join the S&P 500 later this month. The news followed recent comments from Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang, who said Marvell could become the next semiconductor company to reach a $1 trillion market capitalization. From a technical standpoint, the stock appeared extended after its recent rally. Shares were trading significantly above their 50-day (blue), 100-day (green), and 200-day (red) simple moving averages, underscoring the strength of the uptrend. The stock was also changing hands between the 78.6% and 100% Fibonacci retracement levels, an area often viewed by traders as a potential zone for profit-taking or consolidation. Meanwhile, the Relative Strength Index hovered near overbought territory, suggesting bullish momentum remained intact but that the stock could be vulnerable to a pause after its sharp advance. Despite the stretched technical setup, the longer-term trend remained firmly positive. In the notice, spotted earlier by Bleeping Computer , Meta blames a "bug" for the exploit that allowed attackers to hijack accounts without two-factor authentication simply by asking the chatbot for a password reset: The tool itself worked properly and functioned as intended; however due to a bug in a separate code path, the system did not properly verify that the email address provided by the individual requesting a password reset matched the email address associated with that user's Instagram … Read the full story at The Verge.

In this article NVO Follow your favorite stocks CREATE FREE ACCOUNT Novo Nordisk and Eli Lilly took their GLP-1 pill battle to the preeminent obesity meeting this weekend as they prepare for the next sea change in how patients receive their drugs. Novo Nordisk on Sunday announced that prescriptions of the Wegovy pill have topped 3 million since it entered the U.S. market about five months ago. The Danish drugmaker's CEO Mike Doustdar celebrated the milestone, saying in an interview with CNBC that Novo was able to accelerate prescriptions even as Lilly introduced its own GLP-1 pill in April. "If that's not acceleration, then I don't know what is," Doustdar told CNBC this weekend at the American Diabetes Association's Scientific Sessions. Meanwhile, Lilly CEO Dave Ricks told CNBC that prescriptions of its pill Foundayo are "markedly higher" than the 20,000 that Lilly reported about six weeks ago around its first-quarter earnings release, without giving a specific number. He said the number builds week over week and that Lilly is pleased with the progress. The competition for the weight loss pill market is only the latest for the longtime rivals. Signs of that tension were evident throughout the industry event this weekend. Cars drove around advertising Novo's Wegovy pill, while pictures of Lilly's Foundayo pill covered some of the floors of the convention center in New Orleans. And the two companies will soon make their case for their daily pills and their weekly shots to seniors. Starting in July, millions of people with Medicare will be able to access GLP-1 drugs for weight loss for $50 a month. Until now, Medicare beneficiaries have had to pay out of pocket for the obesity drugs, costing them potentially hundreds of dollars a month. Both companies say they're focused on raising awareness of the program, though they have different pitches. RODWORKS/iStock via Getty Images Introduction FVCBankcorp ( FVCB ) operates in Virginia as well as Washington, DC , and some Maryland suburbs. This is a relatively small bank with just over $2B in assets, but I am impressed by the low amount of loan loss provisions. Although some of the loans are no longer accruing, FVCB can rely on a low average LTV ratio for the assets in its commercial real estate portfolio, so the total negative impact should be limited. Data by YCharts A Strong Net Interest Income Growth Boosts the Bottom-Line Result FVCBankcorp performed well in the first quarter, as its net interest income increased quite substantially on the back of a higher interest income in combination with a lower interest expense. This resulted in a net interest income of $17.4M , which is an increase of in excess of 15% compared to the $15M in Q1 of last year. FVCB Investor Relations As FVCB is a small regional bank without any investment banking or asset management decision, its bottom line result really depends on the net interest income. As you can see in the image above, the bank generated less than $1M in non-interest revenue, while the non-interest expenses increased towards $9.9M. After also deducting the $0.2M in loan loss provisions, FVCBankcorp reported a net profit of $6.4M for an EPS of $0.36. That's a very impressive increase compared to the $0.28 EPS in Q1 2025. The bank currently pays a dividend of $0.07 per share on a quarterly basis , resulting in a dividend yield of approximately just over 1.7%. It goes without saying the dividend is well-covered, and the bank is able to retain a substantial portion of its earnings on the balance sheet. This helps to further increase the book value and tangible book value. The retained earnings in Q1 further boosted the tangible book value per share to $14.06, which represents a noticeable QoQ increase from the $13.74 per share at the end of 2025. It also represents a 10% increase compared to the TBVPS of $12.75 at th...
