Oracle ( ORCL ) and Adobe ( ADBE ) were in focus on Tuesday as investment firm BNP Paribas weighed in on the recent sell-off in enterprise software stocks. For Adobe, the company realizes its shares are under “AI disruption fear-related pressure,” and it's likely that the San Jose-based company understands it needs to quell those fears, via stabilization, then acceleration. However, that may not happen soon, analyst Stefan Slowinski said. “With new users now having the ability to start with free products (now 70M free MAUs, and growing fast), monetization of customers may take longer than in the past,” Slowinski wrote in a note to clients. “While Adobe remains confident in the value its products can deliver (user and usage growth remains reassuring – backed by the guidance for at least flat NNARR growth this year), it may take time for the model to deliver reacceleration. However, with demand visibility strengthening, margins trending higher structurally, and capacity expansion on track, these risks appear more than balanced by the earnings growth potential from here. Ahmad Al-rubaye | Afp | Getty Images The Environmental Protection Agency moved to finalize the revocation of a critical scientific finding that undergirds the U.S. government's climate regulations and ability to regulate greenhouse gases, the agency told CNBC. The EPA took a key step to ax the 2009 " endangerment finding " over the weekend by submitting the proposed rule to the Office of Management and Budget, the EPA press office told CNBC. The agency initially proposed rescinding it in July last year. "This week at the White House, President Trump will be taking the most significant deregulatory actions in history to further unleash American energy dominance and drive down costs," White House spokeswoman Karoline Leavitt said in an email to CNBC. The revocation of the endangerment finding would represent the Trump administration's biggest broadside yet against efforts to combat climate change and would be a boon for the fossil fuel industry that has fought against climate regulations for years. The endangerment finding determined that greenhouse gases pose a risk to public health and welfare, giving EPA the authority to regulate them. Effectively, the EPA's move would immediately wipe away regulations on emissions from the country's highest polluting sector in transportation. The bizjet business should have another good year, but segment-level profit misses are concerning. Likewise, it remains to be seen how profitable the MV-75 program will be, particularly with the company spending money to accelerate delivery timelines. Textron shares are only up about 10% since my last update , lagging not only the industrial sector as a whole over that time but multiple aerospace and defense comparables like Bombardier ( BDRBF ), Northrop Grumman ( NOC ), Lockheed Martin ( LMT ), and General Dynamics ( GD ) as well. Today’s valuation is part of my “meh” thesis – the stock is a little undervalued, but not so much so that I’m chomping at the bit to buy. While I can see some potential upside in the business for 2026 (particularly Aviation margins), I also see ongoing risks across the Aviation, Bell, Systems, and Industrial businesses. The best case I can make may be that the Street just seems kind of bored with the name, with only a handful of “Buy” ratings but plenty of price targets in the mid-to-high $90s. If that is, in fact, an accurate portrayal of sentiment, the shares could rerate more meaningfully on stronger operating performance. After a third quarter that was a little light on revenue and better on margins, this quarter flipped the script with a weaker profit line on a small revenue beat. Akamai ( AKAM ) stood out as the “lone stock in the group up YTD,” the team observed. The strategist explained that the recent recovery defied conventional market logic, where typically “the biggest losers bounce the most, while the stocks that held up the best don’t see nearly the juice.” While AllLovin ( APP ) and Oracle ( ORCL ) gained 22.7% and 14.7%, respectively, since last Thursday’s close, “that hasn’t exactly played out” across the board, as other major year-to-date losers performed in line with or below the group average.
