The privately held data analytics software company also said that its annualized revenue exceeded $5.4 billion for the January quarter, up 65% year over year, while delivering free cash flow over the past year. That type of performance might whet the appetites of public market investors, who have not seen many new issuances of technology companies with high growth rates. Databricks is prepared to go public "when the time is right," co-founder and CEO Ali Ghodsi told CNBC in an interview. This year is shaping up to potentially feature notable tech IPOs. Fast-growing artificial intelligence labs Anthropic and OpenAI are also considering 2026 initial public offerings, according to people familiar with the matter. Elon Musk said in December that his rocket company SpaceX could also go public this year. Like many other companies, Databricks is generating revenue from AI. The European Central Bank should only alter interest rates if its outlook for the economy shifts significantly, according to Governing Council member Peter Kazimir . “For now, the baseline holds,” Kazimir said Monday in an op-ed. “It would take a major departure from our baseline scenario for me to consider recalibrating the policy setting.” The ECB held interest rates steady last week, with President Christine Lagarde playing down a recent rally in the euro as she reiterated that inflation is in a “good place.” Speaking earlier Monday, Kazimir’s Lithuanian counterpart, Gediminas Simkus , said that the ECB “will continue on this path as forecast,” barring shocks. Kazimir agreed with Lagarde’s assessment of prices and the common currency’s effect, despite warning of further volatility ahead for the global economy. “When I look at inflation, the overall situation remains balanced,” the Slovak official said. Workday Inc. announced co-founder Aneel Bhusri is returning to head the software company, replacing chief executive officer Carl Eschenbach after the company’s shares have plummeted over the past year. The change is effective immediately, the company said in a statement Monday. Eschenbach is also stepping down as a member of the board. He will stay on as a strategic adviser to Bhusri, according to the statement. The returning CEO will receive $135 million in stock awards, contingent on time and performance in the role, in addition to a $1.25 million base salary, according to a regulatory filing . The departing executive Eschenbach will receive a $3.6 million severance payment in addition to accelerated vesting of outstanding stock awards. Bhusri co-founded Workday in 2005, serving as CEO from 2014 to 2020 and co-CEO from 2020 to 2024. Eschenbach was named co-CEO in late 2022 alongside Bhusri. “We’re now entering one of the most pivotal moments in our history. AI is a bigger transformation than SaaS — and it will define the next generation of market leaders,” Bhusri said in a statement.
