SorinVidis/iStock Editorial via Getty Images Last fall, I reiterated my buy rating on Bank of America Corporation ( BAC ). With resilient business activity seen across all their segments, profitability having improved, and the valuation at attractive levels, I maintained a bullish view on the stock. Since then, declines have been deeper than for the S&P 500, and so there has been underperformance that I did not expect. While the firm did report their latest earnings quite a while back, I have decided to provide an update now to see where things may go next as we head into their Q1 report in April. Seeking Alpha In the analysis below, it is shown that Q4 was generally a good quarter for Bank of America, as activity and profitability looked good. Moving forward, guidance is respectable, and opportunities generally outweigh the risks right now. Early Q1 numbers are sounding bullish, and with the valuation having pulled back significantly to start 2026, I have decided to maintain my buy rating on the stock. A Recap Of 2025 Q4 Bank of America Q4 Presentation Let's begin today with a review of some of their results for Q4 since that should give us a good starting point. In the fourth quarter, Bank of America generated revenues net of interest expense of $28.4 billion, or $28.5 billion in FTE terms. This represented a growth rate of 7% YoY, and while that is a slowdown from Q3 it still shows they have been resilient. One of the largest sources of strength was net interest income. As shown in the chart on the right , NII grew by 10% to show that this rate environment has remained quite favorable for a large part of their business. In the year-ago quarter , NII growth was just 3%, and so if rates go mainly unchanged this year, Bank of America could be set for further strength in this key metric. At this point, CME FedWatch shows that rates are most likely to remain unchanged from current levels at the 2026 year-end. As an indication of broad strength in their business, all f...

Tiger Woods charged with driving under the influence after Florida car crash By Andy Hampson, Press Association Tiger Woods has been charged with driving under the influence after being involved in a car crash in Florida, police have said. The 15-time major winner was taken to jail after his Land Rover rolled over in a collision with a pick-up truck towing a trailer he was attempting to overtake on Jupiter Island. Woods walked away unhurt but was described as “lethargic” by officers, questioned at the scene and later refused to submit to a urine test. Sheriff John Budensiek from the Martin County Sheriff’s Office told reporters Woods had also been charged with property damage and refusal to submit to a lawful test. Budensiek said: “The DUI investigators came to the scene and Mr Woods did exemplify signs of impairment. “They did several tests on him. He did explain the injuries and surgeries that he’s had and we did take that into account, but they did so some in-depth roadside tests. “When it was determined, he was placed under arrest and taken to the Martin County jail. “At the Martin County jail, and even on scene, we were really not suspicious of alcohol being involved in this case and that proved to be true. “Mr Woods did a breathalyser test with triple zeros, but when it came time for us to ask for a urinary analysis test, he refused and so he has been charged with DUI, property damage and refusal to submit to a lawful test.” Budensiek added officers believed Woods was “impaired on medication”. He said Woods had been driving at “high speed” and his vehicle tipped on to its side and then “slid for a pretty decent space before he came to a stop”. The speed limit on the road in question was 30mph. He will be kept in jail for at least eight hours before being eligible for release on bond. The offences are not felonies. The driver of the other vehicle, who had been slowing to turn into a driveway off the two-lane road, was also unhurt. Woods underwent emergency surg...
