Shares of Amazon (AMZN) experienced a modest decline following the announcement of a three-year cloud and AI partnership with Prosus NV. The agreement, designed to consolidate Prosus’s cloud services and accelerate AI deployments, is expected to generate double-digit cost savings for the Dutch investment firm. However, investors reacted cautiously, reflecting concerns about Amazon’s upfront infrastructure commitments and the expenses tied to supporting Prosus’s ambitious global AI plans. Under the deal, Amazon Web Services (AWS) will collaborate closely with Prosus’s AI team to develop applications and deploy AI agents across Prosus’s extensive portfolio. The partnership also grants Prosus access to Amazon’s global data centers, allowing the company to scale its AI capabilities in Europe, India, and Latin America. Analysts believe that while the deal could deliver long-term revenue growth for AWS, the immediate stock response highlights the market’s sensitivity to short-term cost pressures. Global AI Expansion in Focus Prosus aims to leverage the partnership to double its value by 2028. To achieve this, the company is investing roughly $100 million annually in AI talent and infrastructure. The initiative will expand beyond Prosus’s Latin American operations to include European and Asian markets. By integrating AI into multiple business lines, Prosus hopes to enhance efficiency, reduce fraud, and improve customer acquisition strategies across its more than 90 companies. Amazon.com, Inc....

Monty Rakusen/DigitalVision via Getty Images Danaher Corporation ( DHR ) presented its annual earnings on January 28. These were slightly better than expected. In today's article, we will analyze them and see any updates in the thesis with the new information we have. Here is a link to my last article about the company. Despite the sequential improvement in end markets that the company will have, I expected a faster recovery and higher growth for this year and maybe even next year. That's why I think the valuation is tighter than I previously thought. For these reasons, I have downgraded the rating. Seeking Alpha Figures At Danaher, most numbers are muddied by impairments and non-cash adjustments, which do not involve cash outflows, that they make to the P&L, so I generally prefer to focus on cash flow. That said, sales have grown at 2.9% YoY and adjusted EPS, up 4.5% to $7.8. Guidance 2026: For the full year 2026, the Company expects core non-GAAP revenue to increase 3% to 6% YoY. The Company also initiates its full-year adjusted diluted net income per common share guidance in a range of $8.35 to $8.50. Danaher Reports Fourth Quarter and Full Year 2025 Results This EPS guidance seems very conservative to me because it is saying that they are only going to grow by 9% in EPS when that is what they said they were going to grow if sales only grew by 3%. If sales end up growing at 6% (the high end of the guidance), we are going to see EPS growth in the mid to low double digits. By the way, they have confirmed in the call that the EPS guidance is built assuming a sales growth of only 3-4%. So I think that once again, as they have been doing all year, they are being conservative with the guidance and that they are already assuming a reacceleration in both figures at the low end. Here is how the cash flow part would look. FCF flat (FCF / Net Profit = 145%), same conversion (OCF/EBIT = 137%), lower CAPEX (4.7% sales), FCF / Share (+2.2%). Without shooting rockets, we see gr...

Nuclear talks between the United States and Iran are expected to take place in Oman on Friday, a regional diplomat said, with a possible confrontation looming as US President Donald Trump builds up forces in the Middle East. Trump has warned that “bad things” would probably happen if a deal could not be reached, ratcheting up pressure on the Islamic Republic in a stand-off that has led to mutual threats of air strikes and stirred fears of escalation into a wider war. Iran has said it will not make concessions on its formidable ballistic missile programme, calling that a red line in negotiations. Advertisement The Trump administration agreed to an Iranian request to move the talks from Turkey and negotiations were still ongoing about whether Arab and Muslim countries from the region would join the talks in Oman, Axios reporter Barak Ravid said on Tuesday, citing an Arab source. On Tuesday, Advanced Micro Devices Inc. (NASDAQ:AMD) CEO Lisa Su said the chipmaker is limiting its China revenue outlook to $100 million in the first quarter as U.S. export licensing for advanced AI chips remains uncertain. AMD Limits China Outlook During the company's fourth-quarter earnings call, AMD said it is not assuming any additional revenue from China beyond the $100 million it expects to generate in the first quarter of 2025, citing ongoing uncertainty around U.S. export licenses for its advanced AI chips. Su said recent China-related sales were tied to a previously approved license and should not be viewed as a signal of broader near-term momentum in the region. "We were pleased to have some MI308 sales in the fourth quarter," Su said. "Those orders were actually from very early in 2025" and were approved through the licensing process. MI308 Sales Approved, But No Further China Revenue Assumed Su further stated that AMD recorded some MI308 accelerator revenue in the fourth quarter and is forecasting $100 million in China-related sales for the first quarter. Beyond that, the company is not building any incremental China revenue into its outlook. "We are not forecasting any additional revenue from China just because it’s a very dynamic situation. So given that it’s a dynamic situation, we’re still waiting for we’ve submitted licenses for the MI325," Su stated. China Strategy Reflects Broader Regulatory Caution U.S. export controls on advanced AI chips have tightened in recent years, forcing semiconductor companies to carefully manage product road maps and regional revenue expectations. AMD posted fourth-quarter revenue of $10.27 billion, topping Wall Street expectations of $9.67 billion, while adjusted earnings came in at $1.53 per share, exceeding the $1.32 per-share estimate, according to Benzinga Pro. Price Action: AMD shares closed Tuesday at $242.11, down 1.69% and fell further in pre-market trading to $224.50, a drop of 7.20%, according to Benzinga Pr...

There have long been reports and rumors that he was attempting a return to national politics after previously being barred from any top office. via Al Jazeera The killing took place in Zintan, in northwestern Libya - though he had long kept himself hidden from public view amid Libya's fractured politics and current state of internecine civil war . He's said to have been based in Zintan for much of the last decade. Despite never holding an official post, the younger Gaddafi effectively served as his father's number two from 2000 until 2011, operating as a key power broker inside Libya until Muammar Gaddafi was overthrown and killed by by NATO-backed Islamist 'rebels' - bringing an end to decades of stable rule. It was on October 20th 2011 that Col. Gaddafi was dragged from a drain pipe outside his hometown of Sirte, tortured and killed . He was sodomized with a bayonet, before being shot - with much of the brutal death captured on grainy cell phone footage. Western officials celebrated the war crime and summary execution. His son Saif was captured in 2011 while attempting to flee the country and was subsequently imprisoned in Zintan. He remained in detention for years before being released in 2017 under a general amnesty, and quietly returned to living in Libya, but at times was in and ou...

Wall Street expects the S&P 500 to extend its winning streak in 2026, but the index faces a headwind encountered once every four years: midterm elections. The S&P 500 typically suffers a correction (i.e., a decline of at least 10%) during midterm election years, and the potential for stock market volatility is arguably more pronounced in 2026 because of sweeping tariffs imposed by President Trump. Here's what investors should know. Where to invest $1,000 right now? Our analyst team just revealed what they believe are the 10 best stocks to buy right now. Continue » The stock market usually drops sharply during midterm election years Since its creation in 1957, the S&P 500 has consistently performed poorly during midterm election years. The benchmark index has returned an average of 1%, and it has suffered an average intra-year drawdown of 18%. In other words, history says the S&P 500 will fall 18% at some point in 2026 and the index will finish the year roughly unchanged. Furthermore, 17 midterm elections have occurred since the S&P 500 was created in 1957, and the index fell into market correction territory during 12 of those years. That means the odds of a stock market correction in 2026 are approximately 70%. Why does that happen? Midterm elections create uncertainty. The political party in power almost always loses seats in Congress, which leaves investors to wonder about the future direction of fiscal, trade, and regulatory polic...

The NVIDIA market has struggled a bit recently, as traders are starting to question a lot of arrangements in the AI space. NVIDIA The NVIDIA market has been a bit hesitant to say the least during the trading session on Tuesday so far but when you look at the longer-term outlook it's been sideways and with that being the case I think range bound trading continues to be the way forward. We're not quite oversold according to the stochastic oscillator so I find it very interesting if we drop to the $170 area because that's where the 200-day EMA is. If we get the stochastic crossing over in an oversold condition, I'd be very interested in that. NVIDIA is struggling at the hands of math. We are starting to see reports that NVIDIA is pumping money into OpenAI so that they can rent big huge data centers and try to put together the idea of renting these massive data centers that then the money goes to Oracle but sometimes Oracle gives the money to OpenAI and such and we're seeing this convoluted swirl of money changing hands in the artificial intelligence sector but the reality is everybody's losing money. THE CONVOLUTED SWIRL OF THE AI SECTOR NVIDIA has a perfectly viable business outside of artificial intelligence, but it is part of what we've seen in the explosion over the last couple of years. It wasn't that long ago that NVIDIA was trading at $25 a share. Because of this I think someday a lot of these stocks will collapse. I also think they become generational buying opportunities because artificial intelligence will be a thi...

A “do not travel” alert has been issued by the UK’s largest railway franchise, after a train derailment and signalling issues affected services across south-east England. Train operators Southern, Thameslink and Gatwick Express – all part of the Govia Thameslink Railway (GTR) franchise in south-east England – urged passengers not to travel on Wednesday morning “if at all possible” because of “multiple incidents”. Issues include a train derailment inside a depot in Selhurst, south-east London, and a signalling fault between London Blackfriars and Norwood Junction. Southern told passengers: “If you are travelling on our network today, your journey may be delayed and you may need to use an alternative route to reach your destination. “If you can, please delay your journey until later today. Please check your train before travelling and allow an additional 60 minutes for your journey.” National Rail Enquiries said the signalling fault meant fewer rail lines were available between Norwood Junction and London Blackfriars, and trains running on the available lines must travel at slower speeds than normal. Services are suspended on routes between: London Bridge and East Grinstead; Orpington and Luton; Brighton and Cambridge; and Bedford and Three Bridges. Trains that usually run between Welwyn Garden City and Sevenoaks are only operating between London Blackfriars and Sevenoaks. Services between Rainham and Luton are only running between Rainham and Dartford. Trains that normally operate between Horsham and Peterborough, or Brighton and Bedford, may run via Selhurst instead of Norwood Junction. GTR, which also includes operator Great Northern, is the UK’s largest railway franchise in terms of passengers carried. About 18% of train trips in the UK are made on GTR services, according to the company. Great Britain’s rail operators are in the process of being nationalised by the government, with West Midlands Trains the latest, last weekend. GTR is expected to be the next opera...
