The company is seeking a valuation of about $1.8 trillion and has already established a $135-per-share offering price before completing its investor roadshow. Traditionally, companies use roadshow meetings to gauge investor demand and refine pricing. By setting the price upfront, SpaceX ( SPCX ) has effectively shifted the process from price discovery to marketing the offering. Investor demand will ultimately determine whether the strategy succeeds when the final IPO price is set on June 11 ahead of Nasdaq trading the following day. For investors, the offering represents a major test of whether strong enthusiasm for Musk and the space sector can overcome concerns about valuation, corporate governance and profitability. The IPO is also likely to influence future high-profile listings, potentially encouraging other companies to rethink traditional IPO structures if SpaceX's ( SPCX ) approach proves successful. SpaceX ( SPCX ) is also broadening access to the deal by considering allocating up to 30% of shares to retail investors, a much larger portion than is typical for major IPOs. imaginima/iStock via Getty Images Sable Offshore ( SOC ) up 7.7% pre-market Monday following a Politico report that the Trump administration is in "active dialogue" on creating a petroleum reserve in California, a move that would boost oil infrastructure in the state. A document sent to the U.S. Department of Energy from Sable Offshore ( SOC ), which owns three oil platforms off the California coast, proposed a West Coast Strategic Petroleum Reserve "in response to the inquiries made by the Trump administration and in the furtherance of Sable’s ongoing discussions with the Department of War for the supply of oil and gas to California," Politico reported . Energy Secretary Chris Wright confirmed in an interview with Politico that such a facility is under discussion but did not provide details. "California is a military launch pad for the Pacific Ocean, a huge amount of facilities here," Wright told Politico after a tour of Sable's ( SOC ) oil facilities, adding that the Trump administration is "in active dialogue" about potentially setting up a reserve in the state. Wright and Interior Secretary Doug Burgum joined Sable Offshore ( SOC ) CEO Jim Flores in touring the company's California facilities that were part of a forced restart of the overall Santa Ynez Unit oil production earlier this year.
