Eutelsat ( EUTLF ) said it has secured about €1B in export credit agency financing to fund the purchase of low-Earth orbit (LEO) satellites for its OneWeb constellation. The financing will come from a group of commercial banks, , which will benefit from a French State guarantee, obtained through its export credit agency, Bpifrance Assurance Export for roughly €975M. The loan will be made to Eutelsat Communications SA and will rank equally with its other debt. Funding is subject to certain conditions, including a bond issuance. The financing supports Eutelsat’s recently announced order with Airbus Defence and Space for 340 LEO satellites, in addition to the 100 previously ordered.
