Pay for job-stayers rose 4.5 % in March, unchanged for the third month. For job-changers, year-over-year pay gains accelerated to 6.6%. The ADP National Employment Report is an independent measure of the labor market based on the anonymized weekly payroll data of over 26M private-sector employees in the U.S. "Overall hiring is steady, but job growth continues to favor certain industries, including health care," said ADP's chief economist, Nela Richardson . "In March, this solid performance was accompanied by a boost in pay gains for job-changers," Richardson added. Goods-producing industries added 30K during the month, while service-providing industries grew jobs by 32K. Education/health services added 58K jobs. By region, most of the new jobs were created in the South (+101K) and West (+16K). The Northeast recorded a reduction in jobs of 29K and the Midwest of 26K.
