Thom Tillis , R-N.C., on Thursday rejected a proposal aimed at ending the Department of Justice's controversial criminal probe into Federal Reserve Chair Jerome Powell and clearing a path for his successor, Kevin Warsh , to be confirmed. The proposed off-ramp, which has been floated by at least one Republican lawmaker this week, would see the Powell investigation handed off from the DOJ to the Senate Banking Committee. The idea is an attempt to thread a political needle: It would drop the threat of criminal prosecution against Powell – which spurred Tillis, a Banking Committee member, to declare a blockade on Warsh – while still satisfying President Donald Trump, who supports the DOJ probe. But Tillis poured cold water on that proposal Thursday morning. "I'm not going to have an investigation out there," Tillis told reporters on Capitol Hill. "We have to have an independent Fed. And we can't finesse this." Asked specifically about the idea of the Banking Committee taking the reins from DOJ, Tillis was unmoved. "We do oversight, we don't prosecute," he said. "I do believe that the administration was surprised by it and that they weren't aware of it," he said of the White House not having a heads up about the DOJ's investigation. Andrey Semenov/iStock via Getty Images Nebius Q4 Earnings Results The selloff of Nebius Group N.V. ( NBIS ) is a result of expectations and not a problem with the company itself. The Q4 revenue of $227.7 million missed the market estimate of $247 million. Although the adjusted EBITDA is positive, it missed market expectations. When a stock is trading for acceleration, even a small miss on revenue is considered a problem of execution. The increase in the net loss, resulting from approximately $2 billion in quarterly capital expenditures, amplified concerns. However, this is expansion capital and not defensive capital. Demand is sold out, annual recurring revenue is at $1.25 billion, and the company reaffirmed its ARR target of $7 to $9 billion for 2026, with more than half contracted. Since my last coverage about a month ago, NBIS is down by 13%. I believe this is a reset in expectations, not a reset in fundamentals, and I am more bullish than ever on the stock. Data by YCharts Active vs. Contracted: The Power Gap That Defines Nebius’ Upside Capacity is what defines the model. Nebius exited 2025 with around 170 megawatts of active power, which means the GPUs are installed and generating revenue. This is more than the initial target of 100 megawatts. This, to me, is proof that the company can grow its physical infrastructure faster than it had modeled internally. Yet it has more than 2 gigawatts of contracted power already in hand, which is a measure of site control and electric contracts, and it has a target to get to over 3 gigawatts by the end of 2026. Active power drives revenue, but contracted power drives scale. In 2026, Nebius wants to convert all of that pipeline into 800 megawatts to 1 gigawatt of connected power. This is what drives the $7 to $9 billion ARR target. What I think matters most is the speed to conversion, not the size of the pipeline. Letter to Shareholders Q4 2025 The 2026 Infrastructure Surge I think Nebius is actually scaling physically, not ...

Theatre503, London Olga Braga’s award-winning play captures the suffocating tensions of a household as war looms – finding flashes of tenderness amid the rising threat Olga Braga’s stark new play, the winner of Theatre503’s international playwriting award, is a grim portrait of war in Ukraine. This smartly wrought and tightly packed production clings to the moments before Russia’s full-scale invasion of the Donbas in 2022, as Braga conjures a bleak microcosm of war in a cramped Ukrainian home. Every element of this sometimes overloaded show works hard, with already high tensions within the household increasing as the external threat of Russian occupation creeps closer. Director Anthony Simpson-Pike makes ambitious use of the small stage in his first show as artistic director, while Niall McKeever’s set feigns simplicity only to rip itself impressively apart when invasion strikes. United Parcel Service (NYSE: UPS) appears to have hit a key turning point in 2025 as it looks to revamp its business. Still, the stock fell around 20% last year. Even after rising off its lows, the stock is still down by roughly 50% from its 2022 highs. Is now the time to buy UPS stock? A huge spike in demand for package delivery during the coronavirus pandemic's height led investors to push UPS' stock price to lofty levels. When that demand spike faded, as the world grew accustomed to COVID-19, investors moved on to other trades, and UPS' stock began to fall. UPS made the situation worse by announcing plans for a major corporate overhaul. Image source: Getty Images. Continue reading

ICE agents stand at the scene where ICE agents fatally shoot a woman earlier in the day in Minneapolis, Minnesota, United States, on January 7, 2026. "I have proposed, and President Trump has concurred, that this surge operation conclude. A significant drawdown has already been underway this week and will continue into the next week," Homan said during a presser, adding that the admin had achieved an "unprecedented level of coordination" with state law enforcement officials. 🚨 BREAKING: Tom Homan announces ICE has located 3,364 unaccompanied alien children in Minnesota so far that the Biden regime wasn’t even LOOKING for Great job by ICE 👏 Biden and Mayorkas were complicit in the worst child traffcking operation in US history. pic.twitter.com/w99C2kSHTY — Nick Sortor (@nicksortor) February 12, 2026 Homan's announcement comes after acting ICE Director Todd Lyons announced on Tuesday that local police in Minneapolis are starting to arrest anti-ICE protesters . For weeks, Minneapolis had been a flashpoint. Demonstrators swarmed federal agents. Officers were filmed, heckled, and in some cases assaulted while trying to carry out what Lyons described as “targeted, intelligence-driven enforcement operation[s].” Instead of focusing on apprehending criminal illegal aliens, agents were stuck navigating angry crowds, something they weren’t trained to do. Either way, the left is chalking this up as another win - while shares of GEO tumble on empty jail cells and Pam Bondi smarts from yesterday's self-inflicted wounds. 400tmax/iStock Unreleased via Getty Images Alphabet's ( GOOG ) ( GOOGL ) Google upgraded its Gemini 3 Deep Think across science, coding, research, and engineering. Google said that the new Deep Think is now available in the Gemini app for Google AI Ultra subscribers. The company added that for the first time it is making Deep Think available through the Gemini API to select researchers, engineers, and enterprises. Through the updated model, a user can turn a sketch into a 3D-printable reality. Deep Think analyzes the drawing, models the complex shapes, and generates a file to create the physical object with 3D printing, according to Google. "In addition to its state-of-the-art performance, Deep Think is built to drive practical applications, enabling researchers to interpret complex data, and engineers to model physical systems through code. Most importantly, we are working to bring Deep Think to researchers and practitioners where they need it most — beginning with surfaces such as the Gemini API," said the company in a blog post on Thursday. The updated Deep Think showed better performance across several academic benchmarks. The model set a new standard (48.4%, without tools) on Humanity’s Last Exam, a benchmark designed to test the limits of modern frontier models. The company noted that the model achieved an unprecedented 84.6% on ARC-AGI-2, a benchmark for reasoning tasks, verified by the ARC Prize Foundation. It also attained an Elo of 3455 on Codeforces, a benchmark consisting of competitive programming challenges. Last year the model achieved gold-medal standards at math and programming world championships. Besides mathematics and competitive coding, Gemini 3 Deep Think now also excels across broad scientific domains such as chemistry and physics, according to the company. The updated model also showed gold medal-level results on the written sections of the 2025 International Physics Olympiad and Chemistry Olympiad, the company noted. It showed proficiency i...

tap10/iStock Unreleased via Getty Images Strategy ( MSTR ) has undergone one of the most dramatic corporate changes in recent financial history. The company started as a business‑intelligence software company and has since evolved into something very different: a publicly traded Bitcoin treasury firm. It has been some time since the company has traded on software fundamentals, competitive positioning, or enterprise‑SaaS metrics, among other aspects of that part of its business. While it still has that business, and it's not doing too bad, the performance metric of the company is solely based upon the price of Bitcoin. How Bitcoin goes, so goes Strategy. One of the things investors would be wise in considering is this: the transition to a Bitcoin treasury has attracted all the people that have very emotional views on the bull and bear outlook for Strategy. How they view Bitcoin is how they view strategy. How they emote over Bitcoin is how they emote over Strategy. I think the major reason for this, especially on the bear side, is a lot of retail investors bought near the top during a certain cycle or cycles, and when the trade went against them, they panic-sold and took huge losses. It's one thing to be a Bitcoin or Strategy bear based upon logic and reasoning. It's another thing to go on a negative attack with little or no data to back it up. In this article we'll look at why I believe Bitcoin and Strategy are going to rebound, and why positive sentiment will return - both for Strategy and Michael Saylor. Seeking Alpha Major Metrics to Watch With Bitcoin There are three key metrics to watch in regard to Bitcoin to get a feel for what's really happening during times of significant volatility. Having a grasp of these things will help to decide what's really happening under the engine, rather than the emotion that can accompany the wide swings in prices. They are forced liquidations, long-term HODLers, and Bitcoin ETF flows. These data points give a snapshot of how goo...

viper-zero/iStock Editorial via Getty Images Bank of America Securities on Thursday upgraded Huntington Ingalls Industries ( HII ) to Neutral from a previous investment rating of Underperform, citing strengthening fundamentals across the U.S. shipbuilding industry and rising Navy budgets that could offset lingering execution risks at the company’s shipyards. Analyst Ronald Epstein raised his price objective to $400 from $300, implying modest upside from recent levels. The higher target reflects a richer valuation multiple tied to what he described as a powerful macro backdrop for naval construction. Navy funding drives industry momentum Bank of America said expanding defense budgets are ushering in what it called a “golden age” for U.S. shipbuilding. The fiscal 2026 defense budget proposal includes $27.2 billion for 17 ships and additional funding to support the maritime industrial base and advance the Navy’s next-generation frigate program. Speculation that fiscal 2027 defense spending could exceed $1.2 trillion suggests shipbuilding programs will remain well funded, the report said. Against that backdrop, Huntington Ingalls ( HII ) is positioned to benefit as it secures a share of increased Navy procurement. Upcoming catalysts include awards for the Virginia-class Block VI submarines, progress on the new FF(X) frigate program and final decisions around a proposed Trump-class battleship. The firm also pointed to improving contract execution and efforts to resolve legacy, pre-pandemic shipbuilding contracts as supportive factors. Execution risks remain but improving While macro trends have improved, Bank of America acknowledged that operational challenges have not disappeared. Huntington Ingalls ( HII ) has been working through labor shortages, supply chain constraints and margin pressure tied to older fixed-price contracts. Management has outlined plans to boost shipyard throughput by 15% in 2026 after a 14% gain in 2025. The company also aims to expand outsourcing...
