Earnings Call Insights: NorthWestern Energy Group, Inc. (NWE) Q4 2025 Management View CEO Brian Bird highlighted major strategic achievements, including the announcement of an all-stock Merger of Equals with Black Hills Corporation, closing of acquisitions for Avista and Puget Colstrip interests as of January 1, 2026, and the inclusion of a $300 million, 131-megawatt South Dakota natural gas project in the company’s ongoing capital plan. Bird also noted the acquisition of Energy West and Cut Bank Gas natural gas distribution assets. Bird stated, "On the legislative front, Montana Senate Bill 301 was signed in the law, providing greater confidence for transmission investment in Montana. And Montana House Bill 490 signed into law, which clarifies and limits wildfire-related risks, protecting our customers, communities and investors." Bird reported, "During the year, we signed our third letter of intent with Quantica for 500-plus megawatts data center. And we progressed with Sabey from a letter of intent to a development agreement." CFO Crystal Lail reported, "We delivered GAAP earnings of $2.94, which included impacts of merger-related costs, the regulatory outcome rate case in Montana and a very warm fourth quarter... Adjusting for those items, as I mentioned, we delivered $3.58, and that's the efforts after quite a few headwinds during the year to deliver upon our commitments to our shareholders." Outlook The company is initiating 2026 earnings guidance in the range of $3.68 to $3.83 per share, representing 5% growth at the midpoint off of 2025 results. Lail explained, "A significant part of that is... updating our capital plan. Brian mentioned the inclusion of the 131-megawatt generating facility in South Dakota. And also, we've updated to include our incremental Colstrip ownership." The 5-year capital plan is updated to $3.21 billion, a 17% increase over the prior plan. The base capital plan remains self-funded, but the incremental South Dakota generation investme...
