Boarding1Now/iStock Editorial via Getty Images Introduction I wanted to revisit Kuehne + Nagel ( KHNGY ) now that we have the whole year’s performance, to see how well the company did in 2025, and what is still in store in 2026. I am not confident purely in the macroeconomic outlook currently, and for this reason, I am not going to start a position yet. Since the last time I covered the company, when I gave it a hold rating, its share price has returned flat against SPY’s ( SPY ) 20% gain. Briefly on Performance At the beginning of the year, the company saw some decent growth across all transportation segments. It seems that Q1 ’25 was the strongest quarter of the year, with net turnover increasing 15% compared to the same time last year, while organic growth was 11%. Sea Logistics gained market share and improved yields. Air Logistics saw 5% growth in volumes, as well as gaining market share. Road logistics were already troubled in Q1 due to softer European demand and a lower network utilization rate. Q2 was still positive, but less so. Bet turnover still increased, but it was only 2% y/y. You may ask why the momentum slowed. Well, Q2 is when Liberation Day and subsequent tariff uncertainty kicked in. This uncertainty caused a lot of volatility in demand and rates, especially on US-related lanes. The US dollar weakened quite a bit then, too, and since Sea Logistics is mostly dollar-denominated, FX hurt the financial performance quite a bit. In the following quarter, Q3, things only got worse for the company, as the slowdown became more obvious. The turnover for nine months came in at only about 3% growth, while for Q3, turnover was down 7%. The yield in Sea Logistics was hit by lower US-bound volumes, while Air Logistics still showed some resilience; however, airfreight was tough overall. In the latest quarter, Q4, we can see that the headline volumes were down another 2%, down 3% q/q for Sea Logistics. Air Logistics began to see volume growth of around 7% y/y, wit...

Iran targeted more sites in Arab Gulf states overnight and into Friday, hours after US President Donald Trump issued fresh threats against Iranian infrastructure to pressure Tehran to start peace negotiations. A drone attack caused a fire at Kuwait’s Mina Al Ahmadi oil refinery . Kuwaiti media said there were no immediate reports of casualties and teams were working to put out the blaze. Authorities also said a power and water desalination plant was attacked early on Friday, causing damages to some components. Abu Dhabi suspended operations at its Habshan gas facilities to deal with a fire caused by debris from a projectile interception. No injuries were reported. Saudi Arabia said it had intercepted several drones in the early morning. On Thursday, Trump posted a video of a destroyed bridge and said there would be “much more to follow” if Iran didn’t agree to a deal to end the conflict, now almost five weeks old and which has caused a global energy crisis. Iran remained defiant, with Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi saying strikes on civilian structures “will not compel Iranians to surrender.” The country has shown little sign of accepting Trump’s demands for peace and has laid out its own conditions — most of them unacceptable to the US and Israel. CNN reported that about half of Iran’s missile launchers are still intact — despite more than 12,000 US and Israeli strikes on Iran since they began the war in late February — and that thousands of one-way attack drones remain in Iran’s arsenal. The assessment may include launchers that are currently inaccessible even if they are not destroyed, CNN said, citing three sources familiar with the matter.
