DOJ Opens Criminal Investigation Into J6 Committee Star Witness Cassidy Hutchinson Authored by Debra Heine via American Greatness, The U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ) has opened a criminal investigation into Cassidy Hutchinson, the former White House staffer who made a number of false claims about President Donald Trump before the January 6 Committee in June 2022 . The probe, led by the DOJ’s Civil Rights Division under Assistant Attorney General Harmeet Dhillon, began in early April 2026 after a criminal referral from Rep. Barry Loudermilk (R-Ga.). In December 2024, the House Administration’s Oversight Subcommittee, which is chaired by Loudermilk, released a 128-page interim report concluding that the J6 star witness had lied under oath and that the Select Committee knew her outrageous claims were false when they publicly promoted her. In a December 17, 2024 press release, Loudermilk referred former Rep. Liz Cheney (R-Wy.) to the Department of Justice for an investigation into “potential criminal witness tampering based on the new information about her communication.” Loudermilk accused Cheney of colluding with then-media darling Hutchinson without her attorney’s knowledge. Hutchinson had testified that President Trump was aware that his supporters had weapons on the morning of January 6 but didn’t care because they weren’t there to hurt him. She also falsely claimed that Trump tried to seize the wheel of the presidential limo and lunged at his former security detail when the Secret Service would not drive him to join protesters at the Capitol. Loudermilk’s report concluded: President Trump did not attack his Secret Service Detail at any time on January 6. President Trump did not have intelligence indicating violence on the morning of January 6. Cassidy Hutchinson falsely claimed to have drafted a handwritten note for President Trump on January 6. Representative Cheney and Cassidy Hutchinson baselessly attempted to disbar Hutchinson’s former attorney. Loudermilk’s...

Cuba accuses US of ‘extorting’ countries in pushing them to axe deals with Havana to send doctors on medical missions Cuba’s foreign minister has accused the United States of “extorting” Latin American countries by putting pressure on them to cancel decades-old deals with Havana for the supply of doctors. Bruno Rodríguez said the United States was trying to “strangle” the economy of the communist island, which earns billions from its foreign medical missions, after several countries stopped deploying Cuban doctors. The world’s second-largest ethanol producer Brazil is considering raising the amount of ethanol in gasoline, in a move that would aid consumers facing higher fuel prices while also boosting demand for sugar-cane mills struggling with a biofuel supply glut. Mines and Energy Minister Alexandre Silveira said Wednesday that Brazil wants to raise its mandatory blend of ethanol into gasoline to 32% in the first half of 2026. That’s up from the current 30%, and marks a much faster time frame than most analysts anticipated, as the war in Iran adds pressure to fossil fuel prices. “It’s a move that’s happening quickly as it takes into consideration the rise in global prices of crude oil and refined products,” said Martinho Ono , president of ethanol trader SCA Brasil. The previous decision to raise the blend occurred last year, and was preceded by a series of technical tests and discussions that stretched the time line for implementation. “Ethanol has always been cheaper than gasoline, so a higher blend reduces fuel costs” to consumers, he added. Easing the pain for gasoline consumers is crucial as inflation becomes a major concern ahead of this year’s presidential elections in Brazil. President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva ’s administration has already cut taxes on some fuels while volatility in oil hits diesel prices and increases the cost of road freight. Abundance of ethanol supplies, and cheap biofuel prices, are seen as increasing authorities’ willingness to quickly raise the blending mandate even as the gasoline market is less exposed to external shocks compared to diesel, due to a lower share of imports. The boost would come at a crucial time for the ethanol industry, which has recently seen margins suffer from increasing competition, and as the nation’s largest sugar-cane ethanol maker Raízen SA faces a debt crisis. Most of Brazil’s ethanol comes from sugar cane, but a boom in construction of new mills processing corn at a lower cost has hurt profits for the once domina...

Klaus Vedfelt/DigitalVision via Getty Images One of my favorite things about my work in the financial sector is that it gives me the ability to continue learning about new companies in new industries. Of course, I am very familiar with the fashion retail space. And I have also heard of Revolve Group, Inc. ( RVLV ) before. However, this is my first time digging into the business. What I found was a fascinating play that focuses on the younger generations. And over the years, management has achieved some really remarkable success. On an absolute basis, I would say that the stock is not the most attractive. But considering the growth trajectory that it's on and the strong balance sheet that it boasts, I would argue that the company is certainly deserving of a "Buy" rating at this time. Revolve Group Is A Niche Retail Play The management team at Revolve Group describes the company as a next-generation fashion retailer dedicated to Millennials and members of Gen Z. Unlike traditional retailers, however, the company focuses on offering premium lifestyle brands through its online channels. In fact, through these assets, the firm offers more than 140,000 apparel and footwear styles, not to mention beauty products and various accessories. Management has made it a priority to work with not only over 1,600 brands but also with fashion influencers across the planet. If executed appropriately, this seems like a powerful business model with network effects. That alone should differentiate it from traditional retail plays. Author - SEC EDGAR Data Over the last few years now, management has demonstrated the kind of success that the company has been able to achieve. From 2023 through 2025, revenue grew from $1.07 billion to $1.26 billion. This growth for the company was driven by a rise in the number of active customers from 2.54 million to 2.84 million. As the number of active customers grows, the number of orders placed on its platform increases as well. That number expanded from ...

Google's latest upgrade for Gemini will allow the chatbot to generate interactive 3D models and simulations in response to your questions. With the new feature , you may see options to rotate the AI-generated model, manually adjust sliders on it, or input different values to change the simulation in real-time. When trying out the feature for myself, I asked Gemini to make a simulation of the Moon orbiting the Earth, and it created a 3D model with a few different ways to interact with it. Along with a slider to adjust the speed of the Moon's orbit, there's also a toggle to hide the line representing its orbital path and a button to pause the … Read the full story at The Verge.

Thearon W. Henderson | Getty Images The U.S. Department of Justice has opened an investigation into the NFL over potential anticompetitive tactics, a government official told CNBC. The investigation stems from questions about "affordability for consumers and creating an even playing field for providers," the official said. The government's investigation comes as the NFL is looking to renegotiate media rights deals with its broadcast networks earlier than previously planned, CNBC previously reported. The league is also reportedly considering a bigger package of games with streaming giant Netflix . In a statement to CNBC, the league called its media distribution model "the most fan and broadcaster-friendly in the entire sports and entertainment industry," and said that more than 87% of NFL games are on free, broadcast TV. Teams are always shown on broadcast networks in their local markets, regardless of whether games are airing on cable TV or streaming-only. "The NFL has for decades put our fans front and center in how we distribute our content. The 2025 season was our most viewed since 1989 and reflects the strength of the NFL distribution model and its wide availability to all fans," the league said. The Wall Street Journal earlier reported the DOJ probe. Last week, Fox Corp. , which owns a package of Sunday NFL games, and Sinclair, owner of affiliate stations, raised a similar issue with the Federal Communications Commission. The media companies had reportedly told the FCC that sports shouldn't be allowed behind paywalls — such as exclusive streaming deals — since it means higher costs for consumers and further issues for legacy TV. As the cost of sports media rights have skyrocketed, so, too, have the costs for consumers to watch, via increasingly piecemealed media p...

WANAN YOSSINGKUM/iStock via Getty Images Investment Outlook Endava plc ( DAVA ) reported FQ2 2026 financial results , with the stock continuing to fall thereafter on negative investor sentiment due to negative earnings. I previously analyzed DAVA in August 2025 with a Sell outlook due to a poor employee utilization rate amid slowing client demand. Client demand remains slow in certain industries while the company continues to invest in GenAI initiatives internally and through its Dava.Flow platform and extensions; earnings continue to worsen on sliding YoY revenue. DAVA will have to become more efficient to improve earnings, likely through a headcount reduction. Until then, my outlook on DAVA remains a bearish Sell. Endava’s Market And Approach The firm provides software, technology engineering, and related consulting services to organizations of all sizes worldwide. The pie charts below illustrate the revenue contribution by client industry and by region, as indicated: SEC A Grand View Research market research report estimated that the worldwide software engineering and IT consulting market was $273 billion in 2022 and was projected to exceed $678 billion by 2030. If achieved, this growth rate would be a CAGR in excess of 12% from 2023 to 2030, a fairly strong rate of growth. Organizations of all sizes are seeking to transition from their closed, legacy systems to cloud-based environments and have a growing desire to modernize their IT operations in the process. Also, many companies are contemplating or piloting GenAI systems to reduce costs and increase efficiencies, especially in low complexity business functions such as simple customer service and procurement processes. According to Grand View, the chart below shows the historical and projected future growth trajectory for the U.S. Software Consulting Market through 2030, by application type: Grand View Research The company competes with various industry players, such as consulting companies, information technol...

Sam Altman, chief executive officer of OpenAI Inc., during BlackRock's 2026 Infrastructure Summit in Washington, DC, US, on Wednesday, March 11, 2026. Daniel Heuer | Bloomberg | Getty Images Florida Attorney General James Uthmeier on Thursday launched an investigation into OpenAI and its chatbot ChatGPT, as the artificial intelligence firm prepares for an IPO that could value it at up to $1 trillion. In a video posted to X, Uthmeier said there were concerns about whether OpenAI's data and AI technologies could fall "into the hands of America's enemies, such as the Chinese Communist Party." Subpoenas to the company will be issued shortly. Uthmeier also said ChatGPT, which has over 900 million weekly active users, had been linked to criminal behavior, including child sex abuse and the encouragement of suicide and self-harm. "We've also learned that ChatGPT may likely have been used to assist the murderer in the recent mass school shooting at Florida State University" that killed two, he added. OpenAI did not immediately respond to a Reuters request for comment. While acknowledging AI as a "monumental leap" in technology, Uthmeier said it should supplement, support and advance mankind, not "lead to an existential crisis or our ultimate demise." California Attorney General Rob Bonta and Delaware Attorney General Kathy Jennings sent a letter to OpenAI in September 2025 expressing deep concern over increased reports of how OpenAI's products interact with children.
