Chrome is the most popular browser in the world, and the competition is not even close. So the browser is a key part of Google's efforts to get everyone using its AI tools. The company's chatbot has already infused various parts of the Chrome UI, and you can even turn Gemini loose to control the browser . The latest AI addition to Chrome comes in the form of "Skills," reusable prompts you can access while browsing with a single click. Skills don't so much add new functionality as they make it easier to repeat tasks that were already possible with Gemini in Chrome. Previously, you would have to reenter the prompt each time you wanted Gemini to do something in Chrome; whether that meant typing it or copy-pasting from a saved document, you had to do it manually. Saving those favorite prompts as Skills in Chrome makes them quicker and easier to access. Saving a Gemini prompt as a reusable Skill Saving a Gemini prompt as a reusable Skill The desktop version of Chrome will remember your saved Skills across devices. As long as you're logged in to your Google account, you can type forward slash ( / ) in Gemini or click the plus button to bring up your saved Skills. Simply click, and it will run in the current tab. You can also add additional tabs if it's a skill that pulls from multiple sources. Read full article Comments

Google is launching a new Chrome workflow feature that allows you to reuse your favorite Gemini commands across multiple web pages. Any AI prompts can now be saved as "Skills" in the Chrome desktop browser, letting you instantly run them across any tabs you select. "Until now, repeating an AI task - like asking for ingredient substitutions to make a recipe vegan - meant re-entering the same prompt as you visited different pages," Chrome product manager Hafsah Ismail said in the announcement. "To make this easier, we're launching Skills in Chrome, which lets you save and reuse your most helpful AI prompts and run them with a single click." … Read the full story at The Verge.

US Carrier Takes Long Route To Gulf To Avoid Bab el-Mandab Strait And Houthis By Mallory Shelbourne of USNI News Aircraft carrier USS George H.W. Bush (CVN-77) is operating off the coast of Namibia, as it sails around the African continent and is set to join a growing naval force in the Arabian Sea amid a U.S. blockade of the Strait of Hormuz, USNI News has learned. USS George H.W. Bush (CVN-77) transits the Atlantic Ocean, Feb. 15, 2026. US Navy photo Bush, which deployed at the end of March , did not sail through the Strait of Gibraltar and into the Mediterranean Sea, a typical transit for East Coast-based carriers headed to the Middle East. The carrier and its escorts – which include USS Donald Cook (DDG-75), USS Mason (DDG-87) and USS Ross (DDG-71) – are instead sailing around Africa, two defense officials confirmed to USNI News on Monday. Supply-class fast oiler USNS Arctic (TAOE-8) is also operating with the Bush Carrier Strike Group. The path around Africa allows the carrier and its escorts to avoid transiting the Red Sea and the Bab el-Mandeb, which were both hubs of activity for the Houthis in their drone and missile attacks on U.S. and commercial shipping in 2024 and 2025. Bush ’s transit around Africa comes as the U.S. initiates a blockade of the Strait of Hormuz following a Sunday announcement from President Donald Trump. U.S. Central Command subsequently issued a statement explaining how U.S. forces would execute a blockade of the crucial waterway that has been a main flashpoint since the U.S. and Israel launched the war against Iran at the end of February. “The blockade will be enforced impartially against vessels of all nations entering or departing Iranian ports and coastal areas, including all Iranian ports on the Arabian Gulf and Gulf of Oman,” reads the Sunday CENTCOM statement. “CENTCOM forces will not impede freedom of navigation for vessels transiting the Strait of Hormuz to and from non-Iranian ports.” A Monday notice issued to mariners, obtai...

AbbVie 's (NYSE: ABBV) most important therapeutic area has historically been immunology, where it has marketed billion-dollar drugs like Humira, which was once the world's best-selling medicine. The pharmaceutical giant remains a leader in this niche, but it also has a notable presence elsewhere and is now branching out into the fast-growing weight-loss market. Last month, AbbVie reported encouraging clinical trial results for a promising anti-obesity candidate. Could the company eventually pose a serious challenge to Eli Lilly (NYSE: LLY) , the leader in this area? Image source: Getty Images. On March 9, AbbVie reported phase 1 data for ABBV-295, an investigational weight loss medicine. There are several things to note about this candidate. First, it is an amylin analog, that is, it mimics the action of the amylin hormone, which is responsible for satiety, controlling post-meal glucose spikes, and other functions. So, ABBV-295 isn't a GLP-1 medicine. Continue reading

The two worst-performing stocks in that group at this stage of the year are Microsoft (NASDAQ: MSFT) and Tesla (NASDAQ: TSLA) . They're both down more than 20% thus far, and are facing very different challenges. Which of these stocks is the better buy right now? Image source: Getty Images. Continue reading

Retail gasoline and diesel prices in the US are at their highest seasonal levels ever, a pain point for consumers looking ahead to summer travel. While fuel costs have eased slightly in recent days as oil markets weigh the possibility of a US-Iran deal to end the war, retail prices are still elevated — especially for this time of year. Gasoline averaged $4.12 a gallon on Monday, according to the American Automobile Association. That’s a record for the date and compares with the previous high of $4.07 on the same day in 2022, following the price spike driven by Russia’s invasion of Ukraine. Meanwhile, national average diesel prices sat at $5.65 a gallon, more than 60 cents above their previous high-water mark for this time, set in 2022. The war in Iran has effectively choked off traffic through the Strait of Hormuz, a vital waterway through which nearly a quarter of the world’s seaborne oil travels. That’s sent crude oil prices higher and fueled the biggest jump in US inflation in nearly four years. The surge in gasoline prices and diesel costs are rippling through to airfares as well as food and transportation costs. Read More: Why US-Iran Ceasefire Hasn’t Led to Hormuz Reopening The price of gasoline has risen more than $1.10 per gallon since the US and Israel launched attacks on Iran at the end of February. Prices of both fuels are expected to remain elevated. Gasoline prices could be higher for “a few more weeks,” US Energy Secretary Chris Wright said on Fox News on Tuesday. That echoed a forecast from the US Energy Information Administration from last week, which projected retail gasoline prices will average $4.16 a gallon in the second quarter if the conflict ends in April, before easing to average $3.55 by the fourth quarter.

We Are/DigitalVision via Getty Images DeFi Development ( DFDV ) differs from Strategy ( MSTR ) in its focus on Solana ( SOL-USD ) rather than Bitcoin ( BTC-USD ) as its cryptocurrency of choice for its treasury. This strategy was essentially conceptualized by MSTR and involves tapping the public markets for perpetual liquidity through back-to-back stock offerings to raise cash that's used to buy crypto. DFDV currently holds 2,223,074 SOL , with these currently valued at $184.58 million. DFDV bought its SOL at markedly higher prices than the current level, with its average price per SOL currently sitting at around $159.05 . The company's core metrics are not great, with its market price to NAV ratio ("mNAV") sitting at 0.6x, markedly below the 1x benchmark required for DFDV to be able to sustainably tap its equity to buy more SOL. This metric shows how many times DFDV's stock price trades above a SOL per share in USD that's currently at $6.22. DeFi Development Corp. Website DeFi Development Corp. Website The inverted mNAV implies DFDV is trading at a roughly 40% discount to the value of its SOL holdings. Hence, bulls flag this as an opportunity to acquire SOL for what's essentially 40 cents on the dollar. To be clear, DFDV is trading hands for $3.90 per share against a SOL per share of $6.22. This happened on the back of a stock price that has dipped by 58% over the last 1 year and a 21.2% short interest that has placed SOL in a top 5 position of most shorted small- to mid-cap financial stocks. The bearish thesis here is that the company's ongoing operational layer, in aggregate with its financing costs and the negative mNAV, will create a type of paralysis that prevents the accumulation of new SOL. Bears do face a material risk of being exposed to another cryptocurrency rally that would act to lift the common shares. DeFi Development Corp. Website Indeed, DFDV's last purchase of SOL was made on the 16th of October, 2025, raising the risk of management having to sell...

Anthropic announced a new platform last week, Claude Managed Agents , aiming to cut out the more complex parts of AI agent deployment for enterprises and competes with existing orchestration frameworks. Claude Managed Agents is also an architectural shift: enterprises, already burdened with orchestrating an increasing number of agents, can now choose to embed the orchestration logic in the AI model layer . While this comes with some potential advantages, such as speed (Anthropic proposes its customers can deploy agents in days instead of weeks or months), it also, of course, then also turns more control over the enterprise's AI agent deployments and operations to the model provider — in this case, Anthropic — potentially resulting in greater "lock in" for the enterprise customer, leaving them more subject to Anthropic's terms, conditions, and any subsequent platform changes. But maybe that is worth it for your enterprise, as Anthropic further claims that its platform “handles the complexity” by letting users define agent tasks, tools and guardrails with a built-in orchestration harness, all without the need for sandboxing code execution, checkpointing, credential management, scoped permissions and end-to-end tracing. The framework manages state, execution graphs and routing and brings managed agents to a vendor-controlled runtime loop. Even before the release of Claude Managed Agents, new directional VentureBeat research showed that Anthropic was gaining traction at the orchestration level as enterprises adopted its native tooling. Claude Managed Agents represents a new attempt by the firm to widen its footprint as the orchestration method of choice for organizations. Anthropic is surging in orchestration interest Orchestration has emerged as an important segment for enterprises to address as they scale AI systems and deploy agentic workflows. VentureBeat directional research of several dozen firms for the first quarter of 2026 found that enterprises mostly chose ex...
