Moussa81/iStock via Getty Images OR Royalties ( OR ) said Tuesday it agreed to acquire Terraco Gold, a subsidiary of Sailfish Royalty Corp., which indirectly owns net smelter return royalty assets that cover the Spring Valley gold project in Nevada, for $168M in cash. OR Royalties ( OR ) is acquiring the following NSR royalties, with the first three covering Spring Valley: an effective 3.0% NSR royalty on the Schmidt claim block which covers the majority of the acres included in Solidus Resources' proposed open-pit at Spring Valley; a 1.0% NSR royalty on a portion of the proposed open pit at Spring Valley; a 0.5% NSR royalty on a portion of the proposed open pit at Spring Valley; and a 2.0% NSR royalty on the Moonlight property, which is an adjacent land package to Spring Valley. Solidus Resources, a subsidiary of Waterton Gold, is on the verge of advancing the Spring Valley project through construction and eventually into operations. With all major federal permits in place, Spring Valley is entering the construction phase, marking a key milestone in its path toward first gold production in H1 2028. Discovery on Tuesday said it had received a higher takeover offer from Paramount Skydance and will review the new bid under the terms of its existing deal with Netflix . Last week, WBD announced it would re-engage Paramount in deal talks under a seven-day waiver from Netflix. WBD and Netflix have an agreement to sell the legacy media group's studio and streaming businesses to the streamer. Paramount is seeking to buy the entirety of WBD. "Following engagement with PSKY during the seven-day limited waiver period, we received a revised PSKY proposal to acquire WBD, which we are reviewing in consultation with our financial and legal advisors," WBD said in a statement. "We will update our shareholders following the Board's review. The Netflix merger agreement remains in effect, and the Board continues to recommend in favor of the Netflix transaction. WBD shareholders are advised not to take any action at this time with respect to the amended PSKY tender offer."

The hefty punishment from the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) is the largest fine yet for a breach of children’s privacy and comes after the US-based company introduced age checks in July, including age verification to access mature content.
