AST SpaceMobile (NASDAQ: ASTS) , a developer of low Earth orbit (LEO) satellites for cellular connections, went public through a merger with a special-purpose acquisition company (SPAC) just over five years ago. Its stock closed at $11.81 per share on its first day, but sank to a record low of $2.01 on April 2, 2024. It lost its luster as it repeatedly delayed the long-awaited launch of its first BlueBird Block 1 (BB1) commercial satellites, racked up steep losses, and faced stiff competition from SpaceX's Starlink. But today, its stock trades at about $85. That comeback was driven by its deals with telecom giants like AT&T and Verizon , the launch of its first five BB1 satellites in September 2024, and the launch of its first BlueBird Block 2 (BB2) satellite -- which can process ten times more data than its predecessor -- last December. It also impressed the bulls with its goal of reaching 60 satellites in orbit by the end of this year, as well as its long-term aim of launching over 240 satellites. Image source: Getty Images. Clear communication from the Bank of Japan will be even more important as uncertainty remains high amid ongoing Middle East tensions, the International Monetary Fund’s chief liaison for the country said two weeks before the central bank’s next monetary policy decision. “When there’s a huge uncertainty, communication plays a key role in anchoring market expectations,” the IMF’s Mission Chief for Japan Rahul Anand said in an interview with Bloomberg on Wednesday. The “BOJ has been doing well in terms of communicating the monetary policy, so that will remain even more important,” he said. Anand’s remarks come ahead of the BOJ’s closely watched April 27-28 meeting, with markets still seeing a slim chance of a rate hike. Before tensions in the Middle East escalated, BOJ watchers had largely expected a move in April, but that view has since faded as the conflict drags on. Anand said the IMF does not predict outcomes for specific meetings. Anand added that the BOJ should continue to withdraw accommodation and reach at the neutral level in 2027, assuming the fund’s baseline forecast. The IMF estimates Japan’s neutral rate at around 1.5%, while Anand stressed significant uncertainty around that level, underscoring the need for the central bank to be data dependent and flexible. Read More: Japan’s Katayama Talks FX With Bessent, Set for Bold Action In a speech on Monday, BOJ Governor Kazuo Ueda emphasized heightened uncertainties tied to the Mideast, striking a cautious tone and cooling expectations for an April 28 hike. At the same time, he pointed to both upside and downside risks, leaving the door open to either outcome. Anand echoed Ueda’s view on the two-sided risks. “There’s an upside risk to inflation coming from the higher oil prices, which is partly mitigated by some of the measures, but there could be also a downside if the growth slows that could pull inflation down,” he said. Backiris The U.S. and Iran are expected to return to Pakistan next week for a second round of peace talks, two senior Pakistani officials involved in finalizing decisions with both the U.S. and Iranian teams told MS NOW on Wednesday. The development comes as tensions in the Persian Gulf continue to rise, further threatening a shaky two-week ceasefire between the two nations. Oil tanker traffic through the Strait of Hormuz remains limited as Iran continues to threaten passing vessels while the U.S. enforces a retaliatory blockade of Iranian ports. Meanwhile, “discussions are being had,” and “we feel good about the prospects of a deal,” White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt told reporters at a White House briefing. She said the talks would “very likely” be held in Islamabad, where the first round took place. Leavitt described Pakistan as “the only mediator in this negotiation” and praised the country for its assistance. She also noted it is “not true” that the U.S. has requested an extension of the fragile ceasefire, which is slated to expire Tuesday. The first round of talks last weekend—a marathon 21-hour session led by Vice President JD Vance and special envoys Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner—ended without an agreement. Khazal Kashakhi/iStock via Getty Images The last time I spoke about Biohaven Ltd. ( BHVN ) it was with a Seeking Alpha article entitled " Biohaven: Despite Troriluzole Program Delay, FDA Review On Track For Q4 2025 ." With respect to this article, I mentioned that the company was approaching its review by the FDA of its drug troriluzole for the treatment of patients with Spinocerebellar Ataxia [SCA]. I had a Strong Buy on this stock the last time around based on this key event. I had hoped that comparing the data it obtained with troriluzole in the 206-RWE study to that of external controls with respect to the primary and secondary endpoints would be enough to warrant U.S. marketing approval. Unfortunately, this was not the case, as the FDA came back for this program with a Complete Response Letter [CRL] of troriluzole . Due to this event happening, I'm downgrading this stock from a Strong Buy to a Hold rating. The reason why is not only was this CRL received, but this program remains in limbo. Why do I say that? First and foremost, the CRL noted that the company must meet with a division of the FDA to discuss the potential of being able to see what kind of evidence might be needed to file a future New Drug Application [NDA] submission of troriluzole for the treatment of these patients with SCA. Secondly, the latest update for it is that the company held a Type A meeting with the FDA to initiate an appeal process. The company remains committed to working with the FDA, but since there is no path laid out at the moment, that is the reason for my downgrade to a Hold rating. The second reason is because the company had enforced a restructuring of its business, with the key item being having to focus its resources on specific pipeline products. Not only that, but it was mentioned in November of 2025 that it had to reduce its annual direct R&D spend by 60% . All is not lost, though, as it has shifted its focus to three key late-stage assets. The first incorporates a host ...

Share your best investment idea by submitting your article for review to our editors. Get published, earn money, and unlock exclusive SA Premium access. Click here to find out more » Joe Hendrickson/iStock Editorial via Getty Images SoFi Technologies, Inc. ( SOFI ) delivered its first-ever billion-dollar quarter in Q4 2025 with revenue of $1.013 billion (+37% YoY) , record member additions of 1.03 million, and adjusted EBITDA of $318 million (+60% YoY) – yet the stock trades roughly 50% below its November 2025 high. Meanwhile, a short-seller report on March 17, 2026, created a temporary overhang. CEO Anthony Noto responded the same day by purchasing 28,900 shares at a weighted average of $17.32 – roughly $500,000 of personal capital deployed, bringing his direct ownership to 11.7 million shares. 2026 guidance of $4.655 billion in revenue (30% YoY growth), $1.6 billion adjusted EBITDA (34% margin), and $0.60 adjusted EPS represents a step-change in profitability the market is not pricing in. My independent analysis suggests guidance is conservative, with FY27 EPS likely to reach $0.85. My base case and 12-month price target of $26 are derived from a 30x forward P/E multiple applied to FY27 EPS of $0.85 – supported by Wall Street consensus of $24.77 and corroborated by reverse-DCF analysis. With 13.7 million members, $37.4 billion in deposits, and nine consecutive quarters of GAAP profitability, SoFi is no longer a speculative startup. It is a digital financial institution trading at multiples that imply stopped growth. The Disconnect Between Fundamentals And Price I rate SoFi Technologies a Strong Buy with a 12-month price target of $26, representing approximately 52% upside from the current $17 level. The thesis is straightforward: the company just delivered the strongest operational quarter in its history, while the stock trades as if the growth stor...

In this article MCD CMG SHAK Follow your favorite stocks CREATE FREE ACCOUNT grandriver | Getty Images Beef climbed to all-time highs on Tuesday, a bad sign for shoppers planning summer barbecues. Live cattle futures traded at the CME Group settled at $2.51 per pound on Tuesday, the highest price on record going back to the 1960s, according to FactSet data. Each contract covers is for 40,000 pounds of live cattle, typically about 30 to 35 head of finished, slaughter-ready cattle. The contract has jumped more than 25% over the past 12 months as ranchers faced rising costs and slashed the size of herds. Cattle prices ticked down marginally in Wednesday's session. Cattle slaughter is expected to have tumbled to 2.2 million head in March, down from 2.5 million in the year-earlier period, according to Barclays estimates and data from the U.S. Agriculture Department. Beef production slid by 300,000 pounds to 1.9 million over the same time, the bank found. The U.S. cattle herd now stands at its smallest since the 1950s, when the U.S. population was half today's size. Limited supply drove the average retail price of ground beef for hamburgers up to about $6.70 per pound in March, the Bureau of Labor Statistics reported in its closely-watched consumer price index . That was roughly 12% higher than the same month a year ago. The price of ground beef reached record highs going back to 1984 earlier this year, federal data shows. Beef has failed to follow recent declines in the price of eggs and chicken following last year's bird flu outbreak , Bank of America's Sara Senatore said in a Wednesday note to clients. But consumer demand for beef has held steady despite lower production levels and the upward price pressure, Barclays analyst Benjamin Theurer told clients. Restaurants may suffer weaker same-store sales growth due to beef inflation, Senatore said, especially chains such as McDonald's , Chipotle , Shake Shack and Cracker Barrel with high exposure to beef. Ranchers and sla...
