This is why Warner Bros reacted immediately after the N-word was yelled while two of the black stars of their film, Sinners, were on stage at the Baftas on Sunday night, yet saw their concerns ignored after the moment was not edited out of the TV broadcast. A source close to the studio has told the Guardian that executives immediately raised the issue with Bafta after Tourette syndrome campaigner John Davidson’s verbal tic while Michael B Jordan and Delroy Lindo were presenting the award for best visual effects. TBC Uzbekistan, a digital banking ecosystem, said it’s weighing an initial public offering to support growth, potentially expanding a robust pipeline of state and private businesses in Central Asia’s most populous nation preparing to sell shares. “Our excitement about the potential of this market remains very strong,” Vakhtang Butskhrikidze , head of the London-listed TBC Bank Group, which controls TBC Uzbekistan, told investors in New York on Tuesday. The group plans to review strategic options for its Uzbekistan business, including a possible IPO, he said. More than a dozen state-owned entities and closely held businesses in Uzbekistan are considering going public as the country is expected to continue posting economic growth of around 7% in 2026. E-commerce platform Uzum and logistics operator Centrum are considering share sales, while the National Investment Fund is aiming for an IPO in Tashkent and London in the first half of this year. TBC Uzbekistan has increased its user base by 80% over the past two years to around 23 million, which is more than a half of Uzbekistan’s population. It brings together TBC UZ, the country’s largest digital bank, and Payme, a leading payments app, as well as a buy now pay later provider and other businesses. The business accounts for around 9% of the total’s group net income based on 2025 results and 20% of total operating income. Butskhrikidze didn’t provide any details on TBC Uzbekistan’s possible listing, indicating that no decision has been made. Still, if TBC Uzbekistan proceeds with the share sale, both the parent company and its Uzbek arm will be publicly listed.

Click here to find out more » Alvaro Fernandez Echeverria/iStock Editorial via Getty Images Ethereum ( ETH-USD ) appears to be on a bullish path, charted by Bitcoin's rigidity to evolve to the threat of quantum computing. On-chain data shows whales are accumulating at the same time that ETH's Total Value Locked (TVL) is at record highs. The monthly chart also shows an accumulation channel with a target of $6,442, and Bitcoin's governance crisis may accelerate the timeline within which ETH hits this price. Whales Snub Bitcoin, Turn to Ethereum Amid Quantum Fears The debate around the threat that quantum computing poses to cryptographic technology is dominating crypto discussions. In fact, macro analyst Willy Woo said that it is because of these fears that gold has been outperforming Bitcoin. The entire crypto industry is facing the quantum threat, but Bitcoin is a unique case. Unlike Ethereum, which has already announced "quantum readiness" as one of its 2026 priorities, Bitcoin has remained rigid. CryptoQuant CEO Ki Young Ju calls it the "social consensus dilemma," stating that any attempt to upgrade the network may be met with a chain-splitting fork. On-chain data now shows that whales, or smart money, may have bought into this fear and are reducing their exposure to Bitcoin and flocking to Ethereum. Per CryptoQuant, the Realized Cap for Ethereum Accumulating Addresses is tipping north. This metric is used to show the cost basis at which addresses bought Ethereum. It filters out the noise by measuring the value of ETH at the price it last moved on-chain. For instance, if an address bought ETH last year at $4,000, the realized cap uses this price and not the current market price. As seen in the chart ...

TexasPixelPro/iStock Editorial via Getty Images Google ( GOOG )( GOOGL ) continues to expand its presence in the Lone Star State with a new data center located in North Texas near the Oklahoma border. The new project will be in Wilbarger County. Power for the facility will be developed adjacently by AES ( AES ). AES has secured the land and interconnection agreements and will build the necessary shared electricity infrastructure for the co-located facility. It will also provide retail, cost optimization, and related services to the data center campus under a long-term energy management agreement. Google has now contracted more than 7,800 MW of net-new energy generation and capacity to the Texas electricity grid. The new data center, located near Vernon, is part of Google's plan to invest $40B in Texas through 2027 for cloud and artificial intelligence infrastructure. Other new data centers are planned for Armstrong and Haskell counties. Something bad may be happening under the hood of the stock market. Warren Pies, founder of 3Fourteen Research, noted Monday that consumer staples and energy are each up more than 10% over the past quarter --- while financials and technology are lower. These divergences have only occurred twice, in 1990 after Iraq invaded Kuwait and 2000 when the dot-com bubble burst, and the broad market has struggled afterward. The S & P 500 on average lost 6.9% over the following two quarters after both these instances. After the 1990 divergence, it fell 2.1% over two quarters. It tumbled 11.6% in the two quarters after the 2000 occurrence, Pies found. "The market has lost momentum. It is in this trading range … and there's been a really unhealthy rotation," Pies told CNBC's " Closing Bell " on Monday. Energy and consumer staples stocks are off to a strong start for the year. The former is up nearly 23% just since New Year's, making it the best-performing S & P 500 sector, while the latter has popped almost 15%. Pies noted that he remains bullish on stocks overall for the year. He pointed to the likelihood of the Federal Reserve lowering its benchmark lending rate at some point in 2026, while corporate earnings grow by at least 10%. "In modern history, there's never been a down year with that combination," he said Monday. But, "it has to be tech led. You cannot get out of this with tech and financials continuing to [underperform]" The S & P 500 tech sector is down more than 4% year to date. Financials have shed 7.7% — the worst-performing sector.
