Artificial intelligence chip designer Broadcom said that it expects to sell at least 1 million chips by 2027 based on its stacked design tech, an executive told Reuters on Wednesday. The forecast, which Reuters is the first to report, marks a new product and sales target for Broadcom that could represent a revenue stream potentially worth billions of dollars. Harish Bharadwaj, vice president of product marketing, said the 1 million chips the company projects it will sell are based on an approach Broadcom developed that stacks two chips on top of one another, allowing the distinct pieces of silicon to be tightly bound to improve the speed at which data can flow from one chip to another.

Much of the Subaru Uncharted makes very little sense. The “new” EV clearly resembles the Solterra, upon which Toyota and Subaru jointly developed the Uncharted and the bZ Woodland as a continuation of a partnership that stretches back to 2012 with the FR-S/BRZ/86. This time, a fifth sibling joins the platform: the Subaru Trailseeker, which arrives simultaneously with slightly more power, capability, and a larger rear canopy (but you have to wait until March 2 to read more about that one). Most surprisingly, the Uncharted is the first front-wheel-drive Subaru sold in the United States since the Impreza switched to all-wheel-drive for model year 1997. The base FWD Uncharted will therefore offer a class-leading range estimate of 308 miles (496 km), while the Sport AWD trim can do 287 miles (462 km). Subaru has reportedly partnered with Panasonic to develop solid-state batteries for a Solterra replacement, but that project is still in development. Does the above make the Uncharted a bad car? Not at all. Instead of throwing money and resources at more kWh during this liminal phase of EV adoption, sticking with the Solterra’s 104-cell 74.7 kWh battery helps keep the starting price for a FWD Uncharted at $34,995 while also avoiding the vicious cycle of compounding mass by reducing the curb weight. A Premium FWD weighs just 4,145 lbs (1,880 kg), and stepping up to AWD adds fewer than 300 lbs (136 kg). And as with the Solterra for 2026, the Uncharted features a NACS charging port to allow access to more than 25,000 Tesla Superchargers—revealing that, at the very least, Subaru and Toyota can accept the reality of the situation. Activist hedge fund Irenic Capital Management has made an unsolicited offer for Reservoir Media Inc. , an independent music publisher whose song catalog features Joni Mitchell , John Denver and Sheryl Crow, according to people familiar with the matter. Irenic, one of Reservoir’s largest shareholders, submitted a bid for the company this month worth $10 to $11 per share, or about $1.1 billion to $1.2 billion, including debt, said the people, who asked to not be identified because the matter is private. The stock closed at $7.58 on Wednesday. The firm is talking to private credit firms about financing a potential acquisition via direct-loans and asset-backed debt secured by a catalog of songs, the people said. It’s not clear if Reservoir is interested in selling. Wesbild, a firm controlled by the father of Reservoir Chief Executive Officer Golnar Khosrowshahi , owns about 44% of the company, according to filings and Bloomberg-compiled data. Irenic, which pushed Reservoir to explore a sale in 2024, has a stake of about 9%, according to data compiled by Bloomberg. With a market value of about $497 million, Reservoir went public in a blank-check deal in 2021. A representative for Irenic declined to comment. A representative for Reservoir couldn’t immediately be reached for comment. Wall Street investors have been keen to pour money into music publishing in recent years because catalogs have predictable cash flow as streaming booms on platforms like Spotify and YouTube. Last month, Sony Music Group and the Singapore sovereign wealth fund GIC Pte formed a joint venture to acquire music copyrights, with plans to invest $2 billion to $3 billion. Private equity firms Blackstone Inc., Apollo Global Management Inc. and KKR & Co. have also been big investors in the pace. Founded in 2007, Reservoir describes itself as the first female-founded and first US-based publicly traded independent music company, according to an investor presentation this month. It controls a portfolio of ...

Welcome to the Brussels Edition. I’m John Ainger, Bloomberg climate and energy reporter, bringing you the latest from the EU. Make sure you’re signed up . Danish Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen secured a boost in the polls at home for her handling of Donald Trump’s threats to annex Greenland this year. Now she’s drawing down that capital by calling an early election next month. The 48-year-old Social Democrat announced Thursday that she’ll seek a third term at the helm of Denmark’s government, triggering a vote on March 24 — seven months before a constitutional deadline. The comes weeks after Trump revived claims on the semi-autonomous Arctic territory under Danish sovereignty last month, threatening at points to take it by force if necessary. The threats exploded into one of the gravest transatlantic crises since World War II as the US leader brandished tariff threats on European countries that stood in his way. Through the turmoil, Frederiksen reinforced her image as a disciplined and steady leader during periods of national strain. The performance was enough to earn her the moniker “Queen of Crises.” Although the Greenland affair is “by no means over, we have managed to get through it so far,” Frederiksen said in a parliamentary speech in Copenhagen today. Denmark must define itself in relation to the US in the coming term, she said. Frederiksen is one of the few national leaders from Europe’s center-left bucking a broad shift to the right. She first rose to power in 2019 by steering her party toward a tougher stance on immigration to reclaim working-class voters. Since then, she’s succeeded in stitching together a broad coalition that includes the Liberals, a traditional opponent, and the Moderates, a new centrist party. Despite controversies that weighed down her standing prior to the crisis, she now looks likely to secure another term, with no obvious challenger to form a governing majority. In recent weeks, her government has rushed through relief grants on ...
