Hosting an audience-friendly festival in a highly political capital city has always been a challenge. If Berlinale’s organisers push out Tricia Tuttle over the latest Gaza row, they may as well give up trying Berlin is a difficult place to hold a major international film festival. Perhaps, as the events of the last two weeks have shown, an impossible one. The main cause of this difficulty is that Berlin, unlike all of its major competitors, is a national capital. Cannes, Venice, Toronto and Sundance are all hosted in locations far removed from political centres of gravity. In Berlin, world events are for ever on the cinema doorstep and keep on spilling inside. The event has long embraced its geographic fate: unlike Cannes and Venice, it is not simply an industry-facing launching pad for new films but also a public-facing festival selling tickets to new films to ordinary Berliners, and the world’s largest of its kind. But that openness also has downsides: the corridors of the Berlinale Palast are teeming with locally based film critics who are quick to perceive a drop in quality on screen or glamour on the red carpet as a reflection of their own diminished standing. The press conferences are rammed with political journalists who struggle with film-makers that find it tough to give unequivocal answers compared with lawmakers in the Bundestag down the road. (The video journalist who pressed jury president Wim Wenders on the festival’s stance on Gaza usually grills spokespeople at government press conferences.) And the closing gala is attended by politicians who constantly feel they must position themselves for or against whatever is happening on the stage. To make all this worse, the Berlinale takes place in what are usually the last weeks of the city’s interminably grey winter, when everyone is in a bad mood and impatient for the first blossoms of the spring. JanJBrand/iStock Unreleased via Getty Images Boeing Africa ( BA ) significantly raised its long-term aircraft demand outlook for the continent, citing accelerating economic growth and rising air travel across the region. The company now projects that African carriers will require about 1,700 new aircraft over the next 20 years, up from a forecast of 1,200 planes issued last year and 1,000 projected three years ago. The updated estimate was shared Thursday in Nairobi by Managing Director Henok Teferra Shawl. Narrowbody jets are expected to make up roughly two-thirds of future deliveries as airlines expand short- and medium-haul routes. Economic momentum in Sub-Saharan Africa is expected to outpace the global average this year. The International Monetary Fund forecasts the region’s output will rise 4.6% compared with 3.3% worldwide. Boeing ( BA ) said passenger volumes in Africa are projected to increase about 6% annually over the coming years, supported by demographic trends such as a youthful population, an expanding middle class, ongoing urbanization and continued investment in airport infrastructure. Boeing ( BA ) currently holds an estimated 70% share of the African aircraft market. Yet they still lag their male counterparts when it comes to the amount of money they are putting to work in the market. But women are expected to see an influx of wealth as part of what is being coined the "Great Wealth Transfer." Cerulli Associates anticipates $105 trillion in wealth will be passed down to heirs through 2048, with about $54 trillion of that inheritance going to spouses. Women, on average, live nearly 6 years longer than men, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention . That makes them more likely to be the prime recipients of that wealth. "We're about to see this massive change in terms of who is going to control wealth," said Stephanie Link, chief investment strategist and portfolio manager at wealth management firm Hightower Advisors. See Stephanie Link live here: CNBC Pro Live — Wealth for Women - You're invited to join us for an exclusive, live, in-person event on May 28 at the NASDAQ MarketSite designed specifically for serious investors who demand more than surface-level market commentary. More details below. Women commanded $18 trillion of investable assets in the United States in 2023, representing 34% of the assets under management, according to McKinsey & Company . That figure is expected to nearly double to $34 trillion by 2030, or about 38% of total U.S. assets, the consulting firm found. We've seen an improvement in terms of those that are getting more sophisticated, but we have a long, long way to go. Stephanie Link Hightower Advisors While the transfer of wealth is one way to narrow the gender investing gap, women are still earning less than men in the workplace. Women employed full time in the United States are typically paid 81 cents to every dollar paid to men, according to the National Women's Law Center . That has led ...

Mette Frederiksen, who has been in office since 2019, is required by Danish law to call an election by 31 October. Setting a date with eight months to go appears to be an attempt to ride improved poll ratings after disastrous local elections in November that saw her Social Democrats lose control of Copenhagen for the first time in a century. Dragon Claws/iStock via Getty Images Investment Thesis Even though Super Micro Computer ( SMCI ) is one of the global leaders in the AI server segment, their ambitious goal of reaching $40 billion in revenue by 2026 faces a bunch of challenges . One of these is margin compression, since intense competition in the chosen segment is pushing net margins down to 3.1% from 6.9% a year earlier. This means SMCI's stock is dealing with what you might call a "growth quality crisis." In addition to analyzing Super Micro's growth drivers, competition, and financial profile, the purpose of this article is to assess its potential value and analyze key business risks in 2026. In spite of the challenges it faces, it has the potential to improve the operational and economic efficiency of its core business, allowing it to offset the loss of its previous margin and increase its market value. Meanwhile, its rapidly growing market and offering of more unique solutions for servers and data center cooling allow us to give SMCI shares a "Buy" rating. SMCI's Strategy and Growth Drivers As one of the global leaders in the high-performance server and data storage segment, Super Micro's role is growing in line with the ongoing AI supercycle and the development of related infrastructure. Its business portfolio includes three key areas: AI server solutions, liquid cooling technologies, and Building Block Solutions. AI servers are a key area for generating cash flow for SMCI, with the company developing and assembling server equipment optimized for use with graphics processing units, notably from NVIDIA ( NVDA ). Within the first area, we have developed the Building Block Solutions concept, using a modular approach to building AI server architecture. An advantage of this product is the high speed of assembly of servers tailored to the individual configurations of each customer, ensuring the proper efficiency of the equipment in the future. DLC emerged separately from the development of AI server...
