Michael M. Santiago/Getty Images News Anthropic ( ANTHRO ) CEO Dario Amodei is set to meet White House Chief of Staff Susie Wiles on Friday, Axios reported, in what could mark a breakthrough in the company’s dispute with the Pentagon over AI use. The tensions date back to March, when Anthropic filed civil suits against the U.S. Department of Defense after it terminated a contract with the company and labeled it a “supply-chain risk,” citing ideological differences over AI deployment. Despite the conflict, Anthropic may see renewed support from the White House. The Trump Administration is exploring giving federal agencies access to its latest Claude model, Mythos, according to a Bloomberg report . The model is viewed as highly capable, particularly in cybersecurity applications, though its advanced capabilities have also raised concerns about potential misuse. Anthropic co-founder Jack Clark said earlier this week that the company, which some investors have valued at $800B, was in discussions with the Trump administration about Mythos. A source familiar with the discussions told Axios that “It would be grossly irresponsible for the U.S. government to deprive itself of the technological leaps that the new model presents. It would be a gift to China." Some parts of the U.S. intelligence community, plus the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA, part of Homeland Security), are testing Mythos. Treasury and others want it, the Axios report noted. Anthropic ( ANTHRO ) did not immediately respond to a request for comment from Seeking Alpha. So far, Mythos, which was originally leaked last month, has been made available to some of the biggest companies in tech. It was made available in preview to roughly 50 companies and organizations that deal with critical internet infrastructure, including Amazon ( AMZN ), Apple ( AAPL ), Microsoft ( MSFT ), Google ( GOOG ) ( GOOGL ), and the Linux Foundation, according to previous reports. Amazon and Google are among the...

NewSaetiew/iStock via Getty Images Dairy Queen announced this week that it is expanding an AI voice chatbot at some drive-thru lanes after testing it at some locations last year with Presto. The goal of the initiative is speeding up orders, improving consistency, and potentially increasing order size. The early results of the AI have been quite promising, according to Dairy Queen Executive VP Kevin Baartman. With Presto, Dairy Queen found an AI partner that could tackle its complex menu of over 1M order combinations across frozen treats, beverages, and hot food. Looking ahead, Dairy Queen plans to broaden the rollout to more stores in the U.S. Next week, Dairy Queen and Presto will highlight their partnership during a joint speaking session at the Restaurant Leadership Conference in Phoenix, Arizona. Other restaurant chains are already using or testing similar drive-thru AI. Wendy's ( WEN ) has piloted and expanded its FreshAI system with Google Cloud, White Castle has rolled out SoundHound ( SOUN ) voice AI across many drive-thrus, and Yum! Brands ( YUM ) has tested AI ordering at Taco Bell, KFC, and Pizza Hut. Other chains experimenting with drive-thru AI include Carl’s Jr., Hardee’s, Checkers, Dunkin’, Bojangles, Panda Express, Del Taco, and McDonald's ( MCD ). Weighing in on the tech development, restaurant industry analysts note that drive-thru AI can help chains operationally, but not all customers are ready for the transition. laddawan punna/iStock via Getty Images The Brown Advisory Large-Cap Growth Strategy declined during the first quarter of 2026, modestly trailing the Russell 1000® Growth Index. While absolute returns were negative in a volatile environment, relative performance improved meaningfully as the quarter progressed. At its low point during the quarter, relative performance was pressured by weakness in software alongside continued strength in artificial intelligence (AI)-related areas of the market, which drove a temporary gap versus the benchmark. As these dynamics began to normalize, the strategy rebounded sharply—outperforming by approximately 100 basis points (bps) on a net basis in both February and March—and recovered nearly all of the relative underperformance by quarter-end. We believe the volatility and narrative-driven dislocations during the quarter created attractive opportunities to take a long-term view and further refine the portfolio, both by adding to existing positions and initiating new investments in high-quality businesses impacted by short-term sentiment. The first quarter was defined by shifting market narratives and elevated volatility. Early in the period, weakness was concentrated in software, where sentiment was pressured by growing concerns that rapid advancements in AI could disrupt traditional business models and challenge long-term growth expectations. This dynamic led to a broad reassessment across the group, despite continued solid execution by many companies. The negative sentiment intensified in late February following a widely circulated third-party report outlining an extreme downside AI scenario, which contributed to a sharp drawdown across software. More broadly, market volatility was influenced by evolving expectations around AI adoption and geopolitical developments, including escalating tensions in the Middle East. Sentiment began to stabilize as industry developments, including an event hosted by Anthropic that highlighted a more i...

A Model For Europe? Switzerland Moves To Strengthen Country Against Foreign Property Owners And Migration Via Remix News, Foreign property owners will see their access to Swiss housing significantly reduced, as the Federal Council has decided to require authorization for their purchases. With foreigners accounting for more and more real estate transactions in the Western world, Switzerland’s tough measures may be a template for other nations. The new measure aims to combat the housing shortage, especially as the population is set to vote in two months on the Swiss People’s Party’s (SVP) initiative “No 10 Million Swiss Francs,” reports Blick , based on a statement from the ATS Swiss Telegraphic Agency. The Federal Council intends to require authorization for the purchase of primary residences by nationals of countries outside the European Union and the European Free Trade Association (EFTA), it stated in a press release. If these owners relocate, they will have to resell their property within two years. Foreign owners will also no longer be able to acquire commercial properties for the purpose of renting them out. The aim is to prevent purchases made solely for investment purposes. The purchase of shares in publicly traded residential real estate companies and units in real estate funds will also no longer be systematically permitted. The government also plans to tighten regulations on holiday homes. The annual quotas that cantons have to authorize purchases by foreign owners will be reduced. Sales between foreign nationals will again require authorization. Any acquisition of holiday homes by non-Swiss buyers will reduce the cantonal quota by one unit. “These proposals aim to refocus the Koller Law on its primary objective,” the Federal Council writes. The draft bill is open for consultation until July 15. This series of measures was decided in response to the Swiss People’s Party (SVP/UDC) initiative “No Switzerland with 10 million inhabitants.” The agrarian party w...
