Ian Stephenson/iStock Editorial via Getty Images March 2nd was not a good day for shareholders of home security company ADT Inc. ( ADT ). Shares of the business were down about 10.4% after management announced financial results for the final quarter of the company's 2025 fiscal year and expectations for 2026. Although revenue increased year over year, net profits contracted. Revenue unfortunately fell short of analysts’ expectations by a pretty significant margin, while earnings per share also came in below what was hoped for. To make matters worse, expectations provided by management call for revenue and adjusted earnings per share to be virtually flat in 2026. So naturally, it makes sense that the stock would take a dive. In the past, I have been bullish about the company. In fact, in my last article about it, published in late December of last year, I claimed that the business continues to make for a fantastic process for investors. In addition to growing over time, the company is trading at multiples that are difficult to justify. So, in my view, it would actually be a wise idea to view this downturn as a buying opportunity. In fact, I will go so far as to say that I believe that upgrading the stock to a Strong Buy is completely defensible here. A Tough Day For The Shareholders March 2nd was a difficult time for shareholders of ADT. The final quarter of the 2025 fiscal year was, in many respects, disappointing for investors. Take revenue as an example. The good news is that sales increased from $1.26 billion in 2024 to $1.28 billion in 2025. But the bad news was that this still meant that the company fell short of the expectations that analysts had to the tune of $34 million. Bottom-line results for the company were mixed. Earnings per share, as an example, fell from $0.20 to $0.17. That meant that the company missed expectations by $0.05. That unfortunately translated to a decline in net income from $190 million to $145 million. The big pain point here ended up...

Advanced Micro Devices (NASDAQ: AMD) stock is coming off an impressive year in 2025 when its shares soared 77% and flew past rival Nvidia, which gained 39%. It's not often that AMD outshines its much larger rival, but with the chipmaker generating some strong growth and launching next-gen chips that have investors hopeful can take market share from Nvidia, the stock took off. This year, however, as investors have been growing concerned about high levels of spending on all things related to artificial intelligence (AI), AMD's stock has declined by 8%, while Nvidia has fallen by just 2%. You can point to its oversized gains last year as a possible reason for the steeper decline, but there could also be another reason investors are a bit more concerned with AMD: its close relationship with OpenAI. Will AI create the world's first trillionaire? Our team just released a report on the one little-known company, called an "Indispensable Monopoly" providing the critical technology Nvidia and Intel both need. Continue » Image source: Getty Images. Why AMD's partnership with OpenAI could be a concern In October of last year, AMD announced that it was entering into a multi-year deal with OpenAI, the company behind ChatGPT. The deal involves OpenAI deploying up to 6 gigawatts of chips from AMD. OpenAI will also receive warrants, which, if exercised, could enable it to have a 10% stake in AMD. While the deal could unlock plenty of growth opportunities for AMD, investors may be worried about the dependency on OpenAI, which may not be profitable even by 2030, calling into question its financial stability over the long term. This adds risk for AMD, and that could weigh on the tech stock. Oracle has come under fire for its close ties with OpenAI and a $300 billion cloud deal it reached last year. Between that and its concerningly high debt load, investors have been bearish on Oracle, and in the past six months, it has declined by around 34%. There could be similar challenges for AMD'...

cnicbc/iStock Unreleased via Getty Images Introduction American Eagle Outfitters, Inc. ( AEO ) stock has enjoyed a very generous past year. The stock has risen by 87.7%, enough to make investors in the company very happy. However, I think this is highly unjustified. The vast majority of this increase occurred after the Sydney Sweeney advertisement debuted on 23 July 2025. This ad, while creating a lot of controversy for the brand, also ignited a lot of hype around it. As a result, its third-quarter revenue, the first quarter to really reflect the Sydney Sweeney campaign, saw its sales rise by 6% . However, I don’t think a 6% rise warrants an 87.7% share price increase. Furthermore, I don’t think this ad on its own is enough to sustain strong growth in the long term. The stock's forward price-to-earnings (P/E) ratio has been pushed up to 18.4x because of the share price rise. While not expensive, it’s still 3.9% above the sector median. For me to consider the company a buy, something will have to shift the needle far beyond a 6% rise in sales. Therefore, I consider the company’s shares a hold. Results Aren’t as Impressive as They Seem Looking at the company’s third-quarter earnings, we can see a decent set of results. As mentioned above, total revenue jumped by 6% to $1.4 billion. Gross profit of $527 million also increased by 5%. However, what captured investors' attention was the future outlook of the fourth quarter results. Comparable sales year on year are expected to be up by 8 to 9%, with operating income also rising by a similar amount. This shows that momentum still appears to be in the company’s favor for now. Moreover, optimism in the company’s fortunes continues to come out. It recently announced record holiday sales , which boosted its outlook on operating income further, raising its previous guidance of this figure from $155-$160 million to $167-$170 million (while keeping sales guidance the same). However, I believe there were some less flattering aspec...

The war in the Middle East triggered by the joint US and Israeli attack on Iran expanded dramatically on Monday, with casualties and destruction reported across at least nine countries, including major strikes on Tehran. Since the US and Israel first struck Iran with bombing and missile attacks over the weekend, the speed at which this war has exploded into a regional conflict is ‘dizzying’, says the Guardian’s Oliver Holmes. Tehran swiftly retaliated to the attacks, which killed the country’s supreme leader, by launching strikes across the Middle East.
