StandardAero ( SARO ) is poised to benefit from a prolonged upswing in aircraft maintenance demand, according to a new initiation from financial-services firm BTIG , which started coverage Thursday with a Buy rating and a $35 price target. Analyst Andre Madrid described the current environment as a “structural supercycle” for maintenance, repair and overhaul providers, driven largely by the aging global fleet of commercial aircraft. As planes remain in service longer, both the frequency and complexity of required maintenance are expected to rise, creating sustained demand for companies like StandardAero ( SARO ). Madrid said these conditions are unlikely to ease until the early-to-mid 2030s, extending visibility for repair providers across the aviation supply chain. Adding to that momentum, newer engine platforms are also contributing to maintenance demand. The widely deployed CFM LEAP engine, used on many next-generation narrowbody jets, has encountered durability challenges, which could further increase the need for servicing and component repair. StandardAero’s ( SARO ) component repair segment stands out as a key driver of profitability, according to BTIG. The business benefits from the ability to charge premium pricing while still offering cost savings compared to full part replacements, creating room for margin expansion. The firm also pointed to high barriers to entry in the repair market, noting that StandardAero’s ( SARO ) established capabilities and certifications provide a durable competitive advantage that supports a higher valuation. Taken together, these factors position the company to capitalize on a multi-year growth cycle in aerospace maintenance, BTIG said. JHVEPhoto/iStock Editorial via Getty Images Stifel reduced its price target on ServiceNow ( NOW ) to $135 from $180 due to a seasonally slow first quarter combined with weaker spending by the U.S. federal government. However, the financial services firm maintained its Buy rating on the enterprise software stock. "Based on the data that we have analyzed (excluding DOD as that will not be available for several more months), it appears the Fed business is down meaningfully Y/Y vs. what was a very strong year-ago comp (+30% Y/Y), which we believe is likely worse than management had contemplated in the original guide," said Stifel analysts, led by Brad Reback, in an investor note. "Further, this Y/Y decrease includes the $15M de-obligation from the Deferred resignation program, although we note that it was likely already factored into the guide as it occurred before management guided for the quarter." Stifel expects ServiceNow's federal revenue to look better during the second quarter of 2026, as that quarter featured the most significant impacts from DOGE in 2025. "Net/net, given what seems to be a modest start to the year within Enterprise and the weak US Fed data, we only expect ~50bps of 1Q26 cRPO upside (below last quarter's ~100bps of organic upside), resulting in ~20.5% Y/Y-CC growth (vs. 20% guidance)," Reback said. "Given management guidance includes ~100bps of inorganic Moveworks contribution, we expect organic cRPO growth of ~19.5%." ServiceNow plans to release its first quarter 2026 financial results post-market on Wednesday, April 22. A consensus estimate expects adjusted earnings per share of $0.97 and GAAP EPS of $0.53. It calls for revenue of $3.75B. ServiceNow guided for revenue ranging from $3.65B to $3.655B for the first quarter. Despite reporting 20%-plus revenue growth for three consecutive quarters, ServiceNow's share price has remained under steady pressure, declining by more than 40% over the past six months. Here are the four stocks to watch on the day: Intel ( INTC ) is planning to inject an additional $15 million into AI-chip startup SambaNova Systems, bringing its total stake in the company to about 9%, according to a Reuters report. McDonald’s ( MCD ) is preparing to add a new round of value offerings to its McValue menu in the U.S. as it looks to win back budget-conscious customers. Starting in April, the chain plans to roll out a menu of items priced at $3 or less, alongside a $4 breakfast meal deal and lunch and dinner meal deals starting at $5. The lower-priced items include breakfast options under $3, such as the Sausage McMuffin, Sausage Biscuit, Sausage Burrito, Hash Browns, and a medium McCafé Premium Roast Coffee. Alibaba ( BABA ) released its new agentic AI-focused model called Qwen3.6-Plus. The new model is available through the company’s API via Alibaba Cloud Model Studio. Eli Lilly ( LLY ) CEO Dave Ricks said his company is not in favor of having certain aspects of the pricing deals drugmakers struck with the Trump administration codified into law by Congress. “When you throw it into the congressional process, what goes in is not what’s going to come out,” Ricks told CNBC in an interview on Wednesday. Bulgac/iStock via Getty Images The reason that the nightly news, which turned into a 24-hour news cycle, has always been focused on deaths, arrests, natural disasters, conflicts and any other development of a disconcerting nature. Bad news sells. People want to hear about it. David Muir, who is the anchor of ABC World News Tonight, started the novel idea of finishing his show with a happy story, no matter how trivial. It was his effort to cut through the constant onslaught of negativity and has become his signature modus operandi. The financial markets operate in a similar fashion, as investors always seem to have an ear for the skeptics, critics, and permabears whose voices become louder when markets are falling. Market index charts (Unknown) The problem pessimists have is that the stock market goes up most of the time. Yes, we have had a correction of 10% or more on average about once every 18 months since 1945. We have had a bear market decline of 20% or more on average every 4.5 years in data going back to 1929, although they have occurred less frequently over the past 50 years with one every seven years since 1970. In between, there seems to be a never ending competition to call the next top and subsequent decline in the market. Yet pundits who have been calling for that top repeatedly over the past one, two, or three-year period have lost their credibility. ADP jobs chart ( ADP ) Focusing on the negatives may draw more attention than a more balanced approach, but the reality is that no one calls the top at the top unless it’s the first time they called it and did so correctly. I will never try. I focus on leaning offensive or defensive in a diversified portfolio strategy that always maintains exposure to each asset class. I have been on offense since 2022, but there are now plenty of reasons to lean more defensively after the month-long war in Iran. President Trump’s speech last night was the most recent, and markets are expressing their disapproval with WTI c...

Stocks have started their bottoming process, according to Fundstrat. The major averages surged earlier this week, with the S & P 500 posting its best day since May on Tuesday, and then gaining again on Wednesday , amid rising hopes the U.S.-Iran war will soon wind down. That rally paused on Thursday, with Dow Jones Industrial Average futures tumbling more than 700 points as oil prices surged. However, that two-day streak earlier in the week gave technical strategist Mark Newton enough evidence that the stock sell-off will soon come to an end, even if there is more volatility over the near term. "While the two-day US Equity index bounce failed to give any 'green lights to buy' at the lows, this price action cannot be simply brushed off as short-covering," wrote Newton. "Some consolidation into April 5-9th would help to create a better risk/reward opportunity in the short run vs. trying to chase this two-day bounce." "Yet, I am not convinced anymore that US indices require a further move back to new lows, and very well could be bottoming out," Newton wrote. .SPX YTD mountain S & P 500, YTD Despite the sell-off being broad in nature, it has been orderly. The S & P 500 fell 5.1% in March, its worst monthly performance going back to 2022. Both the Nasdaq Composite and Dow have tumbled into correction territory. Yet, in all cases, the sell-off has yet to prove as bad as feared with oil above $100 a barrel. A look abroad shows further signs of a bottoming out in stocks, with indexes in Europe and Asia showing convincing enough rallies that have brightened the overall technical setup, the strategist said. European stocks kicked off the month with a major rebound . Japan's Nikkei has also bounced back strongly this week. "I still find it difficult to call for a move back to highs right away and feel like the weeks ahead could still prove volatile," Newton wrote. "However, it's important to take note of the progress happening in indices around the globe."
