Earlier this month, the ageless Dow Jones Industrial Average (DJINDICES: ^DJI) , benchmark S&P 500 (SNPINDEX: ^GSPC) , and innovation-inspired Nasdaq Composite (NASDAQINDEX: ^IXIC) all rallied to fresh record highs, driven by the artificial intelligence (AI) infrastructure build-out. But dig beneath this facade and investors will discover that Wall Street's historic rally is showing signs of weakening. Although inflation is arguably the biggest wildcard for the stock market, it's U.S. Treasury bond yields that are sending a clear and terrifying message to Wall Street and investors . We Are/DigitalVision via Getty Images Zhihu ( ZH ) reported Q1-2026 results with revenue and earnings coming in above consensus, with earnings beat largely driven by cost control. Unlike last year, amid the DeepSeek Moment when many internet companies were placing a greater focus on AI integration across a number of their businesses, the narrative for ZH this quarter is focused on IP licensing and content distribution, which are still in the early days of monetization. At a high level, the narrative has not changed, with marketing service revenue continuing to decline incrementally while the paid content revenue continues to see weakness driven by the decline in average monthly subscribing members. We reiterate our HOLD rating on ZH. Our view on ZH is that we appreciate its crowdsourced knowledge platform, similar to Reddit, where users share information that can lead to higher-quality content through the integration of AI. However, we are concerned about ZH's competitiveness amid the proliferation of China's AI apps that are gradually replacing query-based search and crowdsourced information channels. The shift in narrative from AI integration to IP monetization indicates that ZH may have abdicated the AI race and instead believes IP monetization is the more differentiated approach given how the competing Chinese AI apps have evolved over the year. With a market cap of $245mn and net cash of ~$625mn, the stock trades at a 60% discount to net cash, which continues to imply limited downside from the current level. However, we also see limited upside from the current level in light of the concerns we mentioned above and the decline in fundamentals. We remain neutral on the stock. For us to become more bullish on the name, we would need to see improvement in paid user growth and membership revenue as well as material upside in IP monetization. On the other hand, we would be bearish on the name of the acquisition cost for users if it begins to climb without a material i...

Investors study the moves of Warren Buffett for one good reason: The billionaire has proven his investing strengths over 60 years. At the helm of Berkshire Hathaway , he delivered market-beating returns -- and stuck to his investing principles the whole time. Buffett led Berkshire Hathaway to a compounded annual gain over six decades of nearly 20%; that's compared to a compounded annual increase of about 10% for the S&P 500 . Buffett turned over the chief executive officer role to Greg Abel at the start of this year, but even in retirement, he remains a precious ally of the nonprofessional investor. For two reasons. First, Buffett hasn't completely disappeared from the scene, so he may share his thoughts publicly from time to time. As chairman of Berkshire Hathaway, he remains involved in the holding company's decisions and processes. And second, investors still may follow Buffett's investing strategy, which emphasizes value investing, the selection of quality companies, and choosing players with solid competitive advantages, or moats. Now, speaking of moats, let's check out two of Buffett's wide-moat favorites to buy now. Continue reading

SpaceX is set to begin trading on Nasdaq on Friday after investors poured $75 billion into the world's biggest IPO ever, betting that Elon Musk's lofty space, communications and AI ambitions can justify a $1.77 trillion valuation. The landmark listing cemented Musk's status as the first trillionaire ever and propelled SpaceX into the ranks of the world's most valuable companies - even though the firm posted a loss of nearly $5 billion last year and generated only a fraction of the revenue brought in by similarly valued tech giants. The stock's performance will be a test for the so-called "Musk premium," which has been the force behind Tesla's $1 trillion-plus valuation.

Paltrow went viral this week for her commercial for 51 Park – a building just miles from where Palestinians are being killed and displaced Gwyneth Paltrow has built a wellness empire by encouraging people to put questionable things in their mouths and up their orifices. Over the years the Goop founder has promoted parasite-busting goat milk cleanses, urged women to stick $66 jade eggs into their vaginas, and waxed lyrical about the powerful benefits of rectal ozone therapy . Now, however, it seems that Paltrow’s brand is pivoting from colon cleansing to ethnic cleansing. The actor and businessperson went viral this week for promoting a luxury real estate development in Israel. Paltrow, who has been nicknamed “Gwynocide”, stars in a new commercial and marketing materials for 51 Park , two 51-story towers in Herzliya, just north of Tel Aviv. (The ad was filmed in New York.) The towers boast a swimming pool, a pilates pool, a wine room and gym, among other luxuries. It’s unclear how much they cost, but similar apartments in the area have gone for millions. (Pussy Riot) On a disappointing record helmed by co-founder Nadya Tolokonnikova, corny guitars and generically moody synths undermine the activist group’s political acuity Great music rarely makes for great activism, and the reverse is true on Pussy Riot’s official debut album. A scattergun mix of icy electronics, pumping EDM and whispered rap, CYKA (“bitch” in Russian) follows a decade of musical protest performances from the activist collective. Made by co-founder Nadya Tolokonnikova (she and Maria Alyokhina were imprisoned in separate penal colonies between 2012 and 2013), CYKA’s powerful point of view is diluted by weak delivery. Lead single Candy Dopamine, with metal band Avenged Sevenfold, disguises its critique of big pharma with cutesy lyrics, corny electric guitar and inconsequential key changes. Generically moody synths and cliched siren sounds run through much of the record, as does blunt-force EDM: Nothing to Lose is both a cluttered trance track, and about being hated by Russia’s “liberal intelligentsia” for supporting Ukraine. Coming from a director whose first feature was Why Don’t You Just Die!, the title of this rampantly bloody, defiantly silly horror caper suggests Kirill Sokolov has a bit of a one-track mind. An unholy stew of Rosemary’s Baby and the zaniest bits of The Evil Dead, the film follows Asia (a kickass Zazie Beetz) as she visits exclusive New York apartment block the Virgil in search of her younger sister, Maria (Myha’la), who is a maid there. But she realises there is something very wrong with the place, particularly after the residents try to kill her. The undead comic action comes thick and fast (the roaming eyeball is a standout), while Patricia Arquette’s accent is a thing of mystery and wonder all by itself.
