Courtois: ‘This a moment for football to end these things’ Real Madrid meet Benfica in second leg on Wednesday Alvaro Arbeloa and Thibaut Courtois have called on Uefa to take a genuine stand against racism and change football following the alleged racist abuse of Vinícius Júnior by Gianluca Prestianni during Real Madrid’s Champions League playoff first leg at Benfica last week, with Arbeloa imploring the governing body to go beyond “just slogans” as the two teams prepare to meet again. Courtois, meanwhile, also expressed his disappointment with José Mourinho for linking the incident to Vinícius’s celebration of the only goal of the game in Lisbon and insisted suggestions that Prestianni’s defence might be that he instead used a homophobic slur would be “just as bad”. French month-ahead power slid to the lowest since June as a surge in solar generation pushed down spot prices. Solar output climbed to the highest level since October, reaching 14.3 gigawatts on Tuesday — about 1.2 gigawatts above grid operator RTE’s forecast — and covered roughly 20% of demand around midday. Milder temperatures and softer demand amplified the impact, giving the market an early taste of spring. The glut pushed intraday prices to -€2.76 a megawatt-hour around noon local time, compared with €15.24 on the day-ahead market. This “unsupportive spot market” is pushing down month-ahead contracts, according to a note from analysts at Engie’s EnergyScan, with sharp declines in France and Spain. They noted an “impressive decoupling” compared with northern Europe, where declines have been more muted. The move highlights how Europe’s expanding solar fleet is reshaping daily price dynamics and increasingly feeding into futures markets. With solar capacity still growing rapidly and hydropower output strong — particularly in Spain , where reservoir levels are at the highest for this time of year in more than a decade — spring is emerging as a key pressure point for power contracts. Solar generation in France is due to grow 14% in March compared with last year, and 57% in Spain, according to forecasts from BloombergNEF. A region of high pressure is expected to keep skies clear for much of the week, according to MetDesk meteorologist Daniel Gardner-Declaudure, who said French solar generation could climb more than 20% above normal levels. Government forecaster Meteo France said spring-like temperatures have spread across much of the country, with especially clear skies in the south. Temperatures are forecast to reach 15C to 20C widely on Tuesday, rising to as much as 26C (78.8F) at the base of the Pyrenees — levels more typical of May. France’s month-ahead contract slipped 5.9% to €42.26 a megawatt-hour by 4pm local time. The equivalent in Spain dropped 7.5% to €28....

For the last few years, Lamborghini has been in a quandary: What to do about an electric vehicle? Among the supercar brands, Lamborghini has always stood out as favoring drama over lap times . And while electric motors and their instant torque can make a car accelerate very quickly indeed, other than the G-forces, it happens with such little fuss. Working out how to imbue an EV with enough "wow" factor to wear the famous bull badge has proved so difficult that the company has thrown in the towel in favor of developing more plug-in hybrids. As part of Volkswagen Group, Lamborghini has access to the EV platforms used by fellow VW Group brands Audi and Porsche, so it's not a question of access to technology. Rather, the company just doesn't think it can sell the cars. As Tim Stevens found out for Ars last year, in this rarefied end of the car market, the customers just aren't interested in EVs . People paying six or even seven figures for a supercar, especially a Lamborghini, are not exercising restraint, and they don't want the car to do that, either. Speaking to the Sunday Times this weekend, Lamborghini CEO Stephan Winkelmann revealed that the Lanzador, an electric SUV under development for the past few years, was canceled in late 2025. "Investing heavily in full-EV development when the market and customer base are not ready would be an expensive hobby, and financially irresponsible towards shareholders, customers [and] to our employees and their families," he told the paper. Revisiting our investment thesis after 3 fiscal years, we continue to maintain Overweight on CTS with a Buy rating of $62.80, implying a c.16% upside as of the date of writing this article. Revisiting CTS Business Segments We noted previously that CTS range of products (i.e. sensors, connectivity components, actuators) serve the aerospace and defense, industrial, medical, and transportation industries. Products by major markets (Company's 2024 10K filings) Aerospace and defense industry has become a key revenue stream for CTS, given that the company's management highlighted its strong backlog of orders supporting future growth in 4Q25 earnings call. Major customers >10% of total net sales (Company's 2024 10K filings) Initially, Trump's tariffs created a lot of uncertainty with regards to CTS top line. However, the company revealed that tariffs had minimal impact for 2Q25 and 3Q25's profitability and only marginally impacted its Transportation segment moving forward. With regards to rare earth material disputes across jurisdictions that could affect the company's input cost, CTS management also addressed this concern in the latest earnings call. We continue to monitor potential impact from supply chain issues related to rare earth, metals and semiconductors, although we are not seeing any significant immediate impact. Market Overview CTS operates in the specialty electronic components industry. Competitive Landscape The speciality electronic components industry is fragmented at the low end, but oligopolistic at the higher end of the market. For example, TE Connectivity PLC ( TEL ) and Amphenol ( APH ) operate at a global, multi-industry scale with exposure to embeded system components OEMs. With high operating margins, they are able to leverage pricing, expand the breadth of their portfolio and scale manufacturing globally efficiently. Thus, both of them are less immune o...
